This is Pap’s first official shot at a radio friendly single and it features Busta on the hook and Swizz Beatz behind the boards. I haven’t been a huge fan of Swizz’s work since the years used to start with 1’s and a Busta hook can usually go either way, so I was prepared for this to be spectacularly awful before I even heard it. Now that I’ve heard it, I have to say it’s really not that bad at all, and definitely not as bad as it potentially could have been. However, this other new joint, Faces of Death, is a little more up my alley.

Faces of Death is a lot better.
He’s pretty good but I wouldn’t say he’s Top 5 material.
His biggest problem is going to be having people buy his records cause he’ll be viewed as a hiphop cat for trying to maintain his original fanbase and having songs with lots of “big words” in it.
Something that doesn’t reflect well on the soundscans these days as people are only getting dumber.
You can’t dazzle the ignorant with displays of brilliance, it is like trying to teach French to a deaf kid.

papoose need experience, and he aint so young… his lyricism on faces of death is well below par… he’s got the words right but not the order..thats why he ends up with weak ass bars like “he the only survivor” or “crushed by a ceiling” or “fell over backwards”… these bars just restate wat was said, its like he needed the extra rhymin bar n it feels contrived…

i love pap. i don’t care what anyone says, he’s in my top 5. but i don’t think bus is doing good by home. i’m with eskay, i haven’t like swizzy since there were two 9’s in the year, and i feel he did horrible on this one. the ridin dirty remix on the mixtape was definitly a better commercial appearance. faces of death is an old freestyle, definitly a favorite, but this version is much more proffessional and easier to listen to per the average hiphopper. overall, i think he is definitly showing that he can be that dude, i just hope bus don’t fuck it up. yo es, should i still send you shit when i get it? or was i like 8 hours too late?

I think Pap’s move with Flip Mode would be better if Bussa Buss stayed off his joints. And I agree he would be better off with someone else’s camp.
1st joint: An ok joint for the clubs, nothing to get excited about.
2nd joint: Pure unadul… un… unaaa *stuttering like dude from New Jack* UNADULTERATED genius.

I dont know if its just me, but I think I have seen some people slightly touch on it, about Papoose.
I think Papoose can spit, but I’m just not really feeling him like that. You know how there is good ball players, but they just not your style, or you just prefer someone else.
Like I said I think he can spit, but His voice and his rhyming pattern just dont mesh well for my taste. I really dont know if he is able to walk that fine line of commercial success and street appeal. I think he should stick to being street cause in the long run, that will help him better.

Hold Up Hold Up, i’m kind of feeling this track, but there needs to be a couple changes. First, Swizz Beats needs to produce a new beat, we’ve heard that old beat too often especially on Cassidy’s tracks and no offense to Busta Rhymes, but i think the track is better off with Papoose on the hook. Papoose needs to spit new versus (more club banging), these versuses are too weak, they won’t get a crowd going.
