I never heard of this That Diesel DVD series in my life but they flooded Youtube with a bunch of freestyle and interview footage yesterday so they’re alright with me. Above is part two of a Joe Buddens interview and a freestyle. Below is a link to part 1 and a freestyle from Joel Ortiz who by the way is the goddamn truth, although this particular freestyle isn’t the best stuff I’ve heard from him by any means.

I don’t know how old this is, because I don’t really watch music video’s on TV, but it’s only been on Youtube for a week. I think this is the first time I actually paid attention to this Give ‘Em What They Want song, and I guess it’s ok. But oh man, that Pump Ya Fist joint is just plain awful, which probably means the general public will eat it up.

If you can stomach the incessant dickriding from Ms. Jones and whoever the other clown on the show is, here is some audio of 50 on Hot 97 this morning. With the GRODT DVD dropping today and Mobb Deep release date steadily approaching, 50 is of course in prime talk shit mode. Among the topics discussed:

• He claims he had nothing to do with Styles P’s album being pushed back.
• Responding to Spike Lee’s invitation to sit in on one of his film classes, 50 says Spike doesn’t have anything to offer him.
• He also speaks on the NOT AT ALL SUBLIMINAL shot Spike took in Inside Man, and wonders why people are mad at his game but not something like GTA.
• Says Game went to the wrong house in his Stop Snitching Stop Lying DVD.
• Takes more shots at Kanye West.
• When asked if he will ever be President of Interscope records states: "I’m already the president of Interscope Records"
• Speaks on Carmen’s book and says it’s all business and that Nas should have put his foot in her ass a long time ago.
• On down south music: "They don’t want to think, they want to have a good time."
• Criticizes Puff for how he jerked Big and says he’s "running him into the ground."

So, none of these comments are really anything new, but if I didn’t post it I might be accused of ‘hating’ by the Stanley’s. Plus, I figure there’s enough material here to occupy the commenters for the next 24 hours or so. Enjoy…

Wow, this is some ill shit right here. Fellow blogger Jerome Baker has posted an IM convo he had with a friend of his who happens to work with the father of Desmond Hawkins. Hawkins is the dude Cass was accused of murdering. Here’s an excerpt, but be sure to go to Jerome’s site and read the whole sad  thing:

Now assuming this is all factual, this raises alot of questions of how Cass beat that charge. People like to say it was the money, but I don’t care how much money you have, PA doesn’t play when it comes to murder charges and Cass was a young black male facing a murder one. Whatever, I don’t know enough so I won’t play myself and speculate, so I’ll just say: R.I.P to Desmond Hawkins, it’s a shame he had to lose his life over such an incredibly aviodable situation.

DISCLAIMER: Despite the title of this post, obviously this is hearsay. However, I’ve been checking out Jerome’s site for a while now and I take him to be a man of his word, and I don’t believe he would post something he felt might be inaccurate. In any event I just want to be clear that I can in no way corroborate anything that is said above, so just keep that in mind before coming out your face at me.

I was reading this interview Bleek did with HiphopDx and I couldn’t help but be amazed at how level headed and mature he sounds, especially when asked about Cam’ron and his anti-chancleta campaign against his father. He also had some choice words on my favorite subject: How the East Coast never fell off and doesn’t need to be brought back to anywhere.

On Cam’s dis track to Jay:

I feel that’s a coward move. Def Jam is on 50th . You live on 145th. You can drive 60 blocks and come see that man. You don’t have to make a record. If there’s a problem, do something. We work 9 to 5. Our cars are parked on the same block every single day. If there’s a problem, do something. Don’t talk about me and now I can’t see you. Where you at? That’s wack to me. You ain’t going to hear me making a record about nobody. If it’s a problem, I’m coming to see you. Straight up. Address that problem to me to my face like a real man. And I don’t have security, never did. I will e-mail anyone in the rap game my itinerary, only me and my homies. You never hear Memphis Bleek going off the limb talking about nobody. I don’t have no problem with nobody. I don’t think about other people that much. I’m happy when a person doing his thing, sells millions of records. I’m glad. Another successful African-American like myself coming through the same struggles I did. I feel like a sucker by hating on his situation. But hey, you open the door on us and you give us leeway to do whatever we feel to you.

I completely expected him to be like "F*ck that nigga, I’m in the studio right now working on a whole mixtape dissing him, shit is gonna be fire!" I guess he figures if Jay isn’t stressing it why should he. I  probably wouldn’t be worrying about much either if I was "in the will somewhere."

DMX GETS IN SCRAP?

OK, I admit sometimes the rumors can get wacky, but I will put this out there anyway, even though I seriously question the validity. Apparently, there is a local rapper from Atlanta named Skits and DMX is out there promoting his upcoming album and the rapper. So Skits is featured on this DVD called Crackheads Gone Wild, a really scary look into the world of a drug addict. Anyway, the dude gives X the DVD as an example of his resume and work. It seems that DMX took offense at the DVD and strongly suggested that the guy was trying to be funny or something. I heard there was some type of altercation and they got into a scrap of some sort –ironically over a DVD called Crackheads Gone Wild.
