The Clipse - Me Too

I really tried to like this. I gave it like 4 listens, but no go. I know it’s a single meant for the masses but so was Grindin’ and this ain’t no Grindin’. Pharrell spitting bars is so unnecessary…every verse outta this guy is like a goddamn Bape/Ice Cream promo. Pusha and Malice’s verses are on point as usual, but the beat and the chorus just aren’t for me.

March 30th, 2006 at 12:03 am
Does anyone actually think Pharrel can rap? Or is Pharrel the only one who thinks he can………..Clipse need to ditch him big time
March 30th, 2006 at 12:09 am
i havent listened to the track, im on a crappy laptop[macintosh]… but as for pharell rapping, i’v never really bigged up his raps just his producing skills… although i thought his work with NERD was aiight but he wasnt rapping on that stuff… i despised can i have it like that… the beat was hot but he sounded bad on the track
March 30th, 2006 at 12:13 am
Pharell raps like parappa the rapper anybody remember that bullshit?
March 30th, 2006 at 12:16 am
white kids on mtv think that fool can rap. he is the equivilant to cookie monster in my book.
March 30th, 2006 at 12:16 am

March 30th, 2006 at 12:22 am

March 30th, 2006 at 2:38 am
how retarded was that JAY-Z clone?
March 30th, 2006 at 2:58 am
I like Pharrell. His verse on the ‘Ice Cream’ beat is pretty serious.
Damn Rapidshare! I want this song. I hate Rapidshare!
March 30th, 2006 at 3:20 am
^ so you like Pharrell, but you say Papoose is wack.
*wonders what twilight zone Tego lives in
March 30th, 2006 at 3:25 am
Papoose is the truth, but i’m feelin Saigon more, that Stocking Cap joint he gots is fire. What Am I Gonna Do is straight heat.
March 30th, 2006 at 5:17 am
The clipse is garbage, they use the same hollow ass sounding drum beats on every track.
Producers need a variety of sounds, even alchemist or ayatollah make pharrell sound like an amateur and thats just in the first letter of the alphabet.
pharrell rapping is almost as sad as mf doom before he met gm grimm.
March 30th, 2006 at 6:57 am
ok im out near bergen st near the kids center in brooklyn here and i just heard this fucking song being bumped by someone driving by when i was out boaging in the front
i dont get it? this song is terrible
March 30th, 2006 at 7:59 am
LMAO @ the “Parappa the Rapper” by Blood Hound! You are right dog! As far as the Clispe, I was feeling the Got it for Cheap Vol 1 and 2….I just knew this niggas were going to come back hard in the 06′…but after listening to that bullshit “Me Too” I’m starting to have my doubts.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:11 am

I’ve been waiting for this album forever, We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 1&2 were both smokin…this track is not too bad….but yea, get Pharrell the fuck off this…dude can’t rap for shit.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:27 am
What confuses me it that the Clipse is back with Star Trak after all that stuff about Star Trak not paying them for albums (or something like that). Are they back with Star Trak? I feel so out of the loop.
This song, however, is not as good as their older stuff.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:32 am
am i the only 1 that think that joint is crack?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:41 am
@ nessnice
I think its music for crack heads if that counts any!
March 30th, 2006 at 9:12 am
stephen c.

March 30th, 2006 at 9:21 am
in todays world niggas like that will aways find fans its sad but true
March 30th, 2006 at 9:22 am
Clipse debut album was pure dopeness. I dunno why they havent drop anything else. One of the most underrated groups in several years.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:23 am
plus they have a very good fashion sense considering they are VA bammas. Double thumbs up.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:31 am
His Verse On Twista Album Was Dope IMO. I Always Thought Nas Ghost Wrote The Verse For Have It Like Dat.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:35 am
that noe guy has as much talent as guerila black.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:42 am

March 30th, 2006 at 9:46 am
WHAT UP ESKAY!! yo skateboard P cant spit but he can flow w/ his beats, i actually dont mind that nigga spitting on his own beats…he aint the next coming of rakim and yall shouldnt expect anything more than what he can already do but yall gotta admit you love the nigga style. the clipse keep that cook coke crack flow going!
March 30th, 2006 at 10:10 am

March 30th, 2006 at 10:26 am
i find it ridiculous that hes signed to dips, hes a carbon copy of jay, rapping over a jay beat too, gaurantee that jay uses this against cam on his blueprint 3 album
March 30th, 2006 at 10:35 am
reggaeton,
Yeah he does sound like Jay-Z…I was tripped out, because I was looking @ his myspace page, and all the comments were biggin’ him up…but then I remembered on myspace you can delete the bad comments so peoeple won’t see them…so he loses 4 mics off top for any future albums he may put out. There’s no way this kid was born with s voice that close to jays…Then too top it off, he runnin’ wit the dipshits…oops I mean dipset…enough is enough… d d d d d d damn.
March 30th, 2006 at 10:35 am
lol…Blueprint 3, I like the way u slide that in there…@ Mike
March 30th, 2006 at 10:41 am
Neptunes —-> Clipse = Wyclef ——> Canibus
Need I say more?
March 30th, 2006 at 10:49 am
On a sidenote, I just watch the Joel Ortiz joint on youtube, and I have to say I was impressed, only one or two references to cocaine and a gun in his rhymes! In todays day and times, that’s a hell of an accomplishment, with the epidimic of Smackdvdthugitis that’s everywhere amongst us.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:02 am
Mannn, eff the Clipse. Before Grindin’ was even thought of, I was a fan of the ORIGINAL shit like “The Funeral”… the flow was up to par and the horns on that track was ri-dic-u-lous. Nowadays, I don’t really check for ‘em. I didn’t even listen to the song Es posted. I’ll just take yall word on its wackness since I’m really checkin’ for other artists these days.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:08 am
@ Stephen C. Lynn
The sad part is… that he’s from BALTIMORE (my home town). DAMN, DAMN, DAMMMMN! Just when I thought we were on the rise (Bossman, Virgin Records; Mullyman, Major League; COMP, former Def Jam artist), this mofo show up and ruin EVERYTHING. Sad part is that he has a song on Ballerstatus rappin’ over a Jay-Z beat that just made me want to url.
Shit is disgusting man. And yall are right, it makes the Dipsticks look even worse. They in love with Jay so much that they found a nigga that sound just like him.
*B More Nubian*

March 30th, 2006 at 11:14 am
Cam wants to fuck Jay (yes homo)
He worries himself about how old Jay is how Jay dresses, and who Jay hangs with.
He sounds like one of my bitches.
I know for a fact Cam wants Jay he idolizes him too much on the low. Talking about he remembers when jay bought dames jeep… That was fucking 82 years ago grow up lil girl!
Now he wants to make jay jealous so he went out and got someone that sounds like him (yes homo)
I like dipset and I know its sad to admit (no homo)
But this shit has to stop!
March 30th, 2006 at 11:18 am
And what the fuck does smfh mean?
That shit doesn’t add up but yet I see alotta mothafuckas on this bitch using it.

March 30th, 2006 at 11:45 am
Lol @ Bloodhound. Yeah, I was really disgruntled when I posted that. Mainly because my city is the most least recognized city on the map when it comes to East coast hip hop and these little fucks are ruining it. Anytime 3 dudes from North Cac-a-lac spittin’ hotter verses than dudes in my city collectively, then you know it’s a problem. And yeah, I said for a minute that Cam had some type of gripe with Jay. Even on one of my favorite songs by him (old Cam, that is) “Let Me Know”, I think that was a direct swing.
And does anyone else remember that Let Me Know joint. I remember I copped the single from Sam Goody’s. Yo, that NFL sample was genius during that period. Dame Grease was like the illest producer for East Coast cats back then, though I don’t think he did that beat.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:52 am
Let me Know from SDE? If so i know that track.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:55 am
^^ Yeah.
March 30th, 2006 at 11:57 am
^^^^
Than yeah, that was a bangin track by Cam, thats the only cd of his where i can listen to the whole cd.
March 30th, 2006 at 12:00 pm
SDE was the shit it was better than confesions
March 30th, 2006 at 12:06 pm
I liked SDE too! I never understood why it was never really talked about.
March 30th, 2006 at 12:39 pm
WOW these dudes fell off man, this shit sucks, and your boy pharell should not be rapping. Go to www.hiphopgame.com, the audio section and hear lil scrappy new song money in the bank feat young buck that shit is crazy!!!!
March 30th, 2006 at 12:40 pm
plus they have a very good fashion sense considering they are VA bammas. Double thumbs up.
^^NIGGA WHAT THE FUCK YOU MEAN VA BAMMAS??? COME OUT TO BAD NEWZ AND TALK THAT SHIT NIGGA. WHY THEY GOT TO BE VA BAMAS??? GTFOH NIGGA.
March 30th, 2006 at 1:03 pm
the clipse another one hit wonder trash can rap group these guys have no talent creativity or anything. without Pharrell they would be rapping on the back of a bus there new album wont even make the top 50 in first week sales just another tax write-off rap group
March 30th, 2006 at 1:28 pm
umm.. because if your from anywhere south of NY, your a bamma.
March 30th, 2006 at 1:30 pm
^^^Look out man wit that bullshit. Thats like stereotyping
March 30th, 2006 at 2:58 pm
This post rite here just died man what happened? NIggas must not like the clipse that much!
March 30th, 2006 at 3:01 pm
V.. A… All… Day…
March 30th, 2006 at 3:03 pm
Bugsy you dumbass, Clipse got more talent in their little pinky that a certain oiled up homo has in his whole crew.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:09 pm
^U a fool eskay. “oiled up homo”… LMAO!!!!!!!
March 30th, 2006 at 3:10 pm
Bugsy just lost all respect for that comment… Clipse are ridiculous
March 30th, 2006 at 3:16 pm
I think this might be one of those joints that grows on you, but Pharrell does his best job of fucking it up. The beat is nice though.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:34 pm
Clipse need to start hollerin at better producers like 9th Wonder, I can imagine them killin a couple of them Little Brother beats. Clipse aren’t very versatile in their messages, either. Them boys got flow though, you can’t question that.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:59 pm
“south Of Ny Is Bama” Ok And Ny Cats Aint Got A Mouthful Of Salt Make Me A Non Believer.
March 30th, 2006 at 6:13 pm
G.OFF what album are you listening too that make you think they are hottt please dont say lord willin i hope you say some mixtape that you heard and they were spittin raw flows becuzz if i remember right when they first came out on 106&park pharrell was like i had to come back and sign my child hood homies. point said they are memphis bleeks(homies to the star)
March 30th, 2006 at 6:41 pm
I think some of yall forgot that the Clipse are originally from the Bronx and didn’t move to VA until they were about 8.
Just like Carmelo [I know my Bmore heads are gonna hate me for this] was born and raised in Brooklyn until he was about 8 as well.
What does that got to do with anything? Nada. Just facts for you crumbs (I’m so 80’s).
March 30th, 2006 at 7:14 pm
I think yall taking offense to being a bamma.. South dudes being bammas the same way yall call us city boys. Only reason I brought it out was because Clipse dont dress like bammas. Them and T.I.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:48 pm
Bugsy, I would put Lord Willin’ and the Got it For Cheap mixtapes up against most other hard rap albums of the last few years (not the best, but better than most). Those boys spit drug lyrics like a lot of other cats, but they take the lyrical depth up a notch and can really make you think:
From “I’m Not You” off of Lord Willin
[Malice]
It shames me to no end,
To feed poison to those who could very well be my kin (uh huh)
But where there’s demand, someone will supply
So I feed them their needs at the same time cry
Yes it pains me to see them needness
All of them lost souls and I’m their Jesus
Deepest regret and sympathy to the street
I see no pity for they fix when they kids couldn’t eat (so sorry)
And with this in mind, I still didn’t quit
And that’s how I know, that I aint shit (I aint shit)
March 30th, 2006 at 11:01 pm
They still writing for Pharell??
March 30th, 2006 at 11:01 pm
they were to busy writing pharell’s album to focus on themselves!
March 30th, 2006 at 11:04 pm
thats the problem with quoting from lyrics sites, without adding ur personal touch… lol you got a few errors in ur lyrics, but its all gravy we understand… every track i heard from lord willin i loved on the spot but the whole drug talk got a bit annoying but i guess its all they know… beats were sick but pharrell is losing his touch
March 31st, 2006 at 7:15 am
oh damn! the track is dope and what the f**k, is rap music only for africanamerican people nah it’s global or m i wrong???
March 31st, 2006 at 3:04 pm
yeah, my bad on the lyrics, but you get the point.
March 31st, 2006 at 3:53 pm
I get the point the clipse need to fall off a cliff. you quote all the verse’s you want itsl they delivery and how they spit thats weak to me. Plus they are not marketable for mainstream rap and are too underground for mixtape standards they have a unique sound that should stay in the VA
