This 1 can go either way. Niggas n the streets don’t really respect Mobb Deep but they dig they music. Have is nice with the beats an to a nigga who don’t know better would think prodigy a cold killa. Me personally I don’t think G unit can do anything for Mobb that they could’nt do for they self. That move had to be strictly financial on they part because they jumped on it too fast. One reason it could work though because they can sell to a whole different audience( cross over). If that don’t happen they fucked because I don’t think a million fans of infamous the album are fans of the new Mobb Deep only time will tell

Amerikaz Nightmare wasn’t that bad though.
I hope this doesn’t have too many G-Unit affiliates on it, and it could be good.
The cover is good, but that border is unnecessary and looks dumb, it would look much better with it off.

I love their music. They been acting a lil strange lately tho. But we all have to do some moves we really aint too proud of at times in our jobs, just to bring food to the table.
So, to break it down:
To rappers this is a job. To us(fans) this is music.
These people are not super-heroes, they dont have super-powers, they are regular dudes who started with almost nothin, and I will always admire how they made it big, and sometimes they have to do some shit we dont agree with. But fuck it, I dont FOLLOW them(rappers) I simply listen to their songs. If this was the POPE smoking crack, then I would worry and be all over his business, but its P and Hav! who cares, as long as they make hot music. However, Im not gonna be a hypocrit cuz I do enjoy to make fun of some of the shit sum rappers do, just for fun, but I dont make it a hobby. And that ballerina picture is stupid tho, dude was like 8, whatchu want him to do, hold a gun and sell crack?
this is what I think of rap, and in my opinion it is a HEALTHY way to see it in order to not fall into a ‘hater’ or ’stan’ category, and ALWAYS love rap for what it is, music. Example, I loved GRODT, I bought it twice(it broke) but I never bought The Massacre, not even the bootleg. If 50s next album is hot, I will buy it, if it sucks, I wont, period.

For instance, I’ll admit Jay has been neglecting hip hop at Def Jam lately, but it kills me to say it. Back to the original topic at hand….I put this in the “Coming of Age” comments and it fits here….
Ain’t no WAY for Mobb Deep to put out serious numbers under G-Unit! Those niggas don’t have the crossover appeal 50 has, and 50 isn’t a PART of Mobb– his appeal trickled down to Banks, etc because all the mainstream kids (i.e. White) saw him with them. Not to mention those beats that most (mainstream) “fans†will get addicted to and want to dance to. Hell I can’t lie..the beats get me too.
End of the day tho, Hav & P don’t have that appeal…maybe I’ll turn to TRL. If I see their new vid (..that beat’s kinda crazy too) climbing THAT chart, maybe I’ll believe they’ll do some serious numbers.
They’ll prolly get some sales overseas tho. I imagine if 50 yells out to crowds of adoring fans who don’t speak any english to “Buy Mobb Deep’s cd!â€â€¦they’ll do it.
