Is Quan Going to G-Unit?
Nas "protege" Quan recently called into, of all places, DJ Whoo Kid’s show on Shade45 radio. After being coaxed into finally admitting that he is no longer on Nas’ Ill Will imprint, he hinted that he may even be talking to Sha Money XL about signing to G-Unit. Normally I would throw this type of news in Nas fans faces and poke fun at them and The Little Homey about how badly he runs his little label, and how he is disloyal to his artists, etc. But this time I’m going to have to ride with Nasir. This guy Quan is way overrated anyway. He was on that one decent song on Street’s Disciple, but other than that he’s nothing but a glorified mixtape novelty. Other than a high profile co-sign from Nas, what is this guy’s claim to fame? I call him a novelty because he’s one of these rapper/singer types. Get those guys out of my face. They always turn out to be decent at one thing, and totally average at the other. Just focus on one thing and do it well and you won’t have to be another walking gimmick, and your mother can be proud. There are only a select few who can achieve that fine balance between rapper and vocalist and actually do it well. Of course by "a select few" I mean Lauryn Hill, and it remains to be seen if she can even pull it off anymore. The rest of you suck, and I’d appreciate it if you’d just stop now. Newsflash to 50 and Sha Money: Quan = really not all that. Then again, you guys signed Spider Loc, so obviously talent isn’t always a prerequisite for rocking the G-Unit spinner. Nas, let this clown out of whatever shitty contract you suckered him into over at Ill Will, and watch him rot in limbo over at G-Unit for a couple of years. That way he experiences the same nowhere career he would have had at Ill Will, but 50 foots the bill instead of you!

I think Quan’s pretty good.. Don’t think GUnit is the right fit, he needs to be on Kanye label or something soulful.

Quan represents my hometown (right next to it, rather). He’s ok, I mean his heart and mind is in the right place and all that. He is “anti-wanksta” but I can just see him kickin the same sh*t because he was “doin’ his thing in the streets” and all that. Ain’t much coming out of Newpo- err…Bad News anyway. A bunch of drug nikkas ternt rappers.

I dont care if he signs or not, but one thing I know is Nas is a Snake and helps no one around him. Everyone always want to blame the other person when Nas gets into problems, but it seems to me Nas is the one with the problem. Biggie Never really liked him, Tupac hated him, Jay-Z didnt like him, 50 dont like him, Cam, Kay Slay also were not cool with him but everything is good now between. Nas dont give a fuck about nobody but himself.

Yo…I’ve been sayin that for a long time now. You can think what you want about Nas as an artist, but as a label owner…..he SUCKS. The cat has got no eye for talent and no business sense. Has a good release ever come off of Ill Will records since it’s inception? What was he smokin when he thought them oochie wally niggas could hold down an LP? How do you break your ties with artists who used to be your friends who actually might have sold you some records (Nore, Nature, Mega) and sign no talents like the Bravehearts? On what planet does this make sense? Hell, he could’ve just signed AZ and they would’ve had the potential to collab on some classics… I get a headache just thinkin about some of the dumb shit this cat does…
