    What you guys should say is “I prefer Saigon over Papoose” because to say that he’s better than Papoose is a crazy. What is you basis for this argument? Saigon is a great lyricist, but bar for bar he’s just not on Pap’s level. I can do a line for line comparison if you’d like?

    You know what I dislike? when people try compare puchline for punchline or bar for bar, thats not what makes a rapper hot, its the lurical content the creativity of expression and the overall message that make a rapper hot. So Yes you can say Saigon is better than Papoose if you feel that way, its real corny to get out the punchline-o-meter and be like (in nerdy voice) he averages approximately 9.95 punchlines per second per cubic bars……and Papoose sounds the same on everything he does.

    yeah, and to me, Pap is hotter considering those things. His Menace 2 Society track is the more creative than anything Sai has ever done.

    I think its personal opinion, I suppose. But I dont see how anyone can make an argument of Pappoose being better. I’d be more interested in doing a sit down and listen between the two and it would be pretty clear that Saigon is superior in every category.

    That being said, this song is complete garbage. I love Saigon (no mo)but I dont subscribe to blind fanfair. If his album sounds anything like this song, he will go from “being top 10 to not mentioned at all”

    Saigon is eons ahead of Papoose. Papoose spits TOO MANY multi’s, he’s almost got as many multi’s as J.R. Writer. Papoose still uses metaphors about how many and how big his guns are, or how much crack he sold. Saigon is above every rapper thats rapping right now….. Period. I still listen to Pap though. He’s still a good rapper.

    The blackman is god so both are equal. Both got good rhymes. Saigon kicks lyrics like he got knowledge of self but where a cross. What’s the science wit dat?     Hip Hop (Out In The Park) – Talks about legendary rappers and how its changed
    Raw – Just what the title says. He says some controversial shit.
    Yes – “I’m a nigga so ill, I punch math and drop science”
    Color Purple – Talks about stopping gang violence
    Out There – Talks about the shit he did
    Shok TV – “Imagine Malcom X over a beat/ Tryin to rally up the troops and take control of the street/”

    Notice most of those Pap songs came out after “The Head of State”? The only thing Pap has on Sai is that he has more music, because he drops a mixtape every other day. I would of listed “Lean On Me” or “Thats Real Talk” in your Pap list.

    Ok, I’m not going to pick apart each of those examples, but how are ‘Out There’ and ‘Raw’ concepts? Just cause you’re rapping about a subject doesn’t meen it’s a concept. That said, none of those songs are as creative as Menace 2 Society or You Can’t Murder Me. Tell me they are and please explain to me how. Color Purple? Great song, I love it and I guess you can say its a concept, but it’s not all that creative. End gang violence? Been done.

    And as for that post -’Head of State’ argument. Oh boy, I was waiting for that to come up. That was one of the most ignorant statements Saigon ever made. So what, he’s the only one who’s allowed to be conscious? He talks all that shit about what other rappers talk about and how they glorify the streets, but when a nigga who is LYRICALLY NICER spits something worthwhile, now he’s wrong for that? Get the fuck outta here. That’s one of the main things I don’t like about him. Like nigga you act like you don’t spit no street shit. All of a sudden you’re the savior of hip hop? Gimme a break

    S, the bottomline between the two and the reason I think some like one over the other is Saigon is geared more towards the 5% nation and knowledge of self. I find his ideas on advacement of his people as a whole more enlightning than Papoose’s best concept records. (which are very good) But if I had to pick which I enjoy listening to more, its the self-empowerment themed songs. I also feel Saigon is the better at the tough talk style that they both revert back to every so often. Maybe its because I can believe that he was actually tough at one time and Papoose just appears to sound good doing it. Also if I have to hear Papoose shout out “thugacation” again, which btw I think is the most idiotic name ever created, I might just break my radio.

    Biggies mother said that Big was never in a one room shack and that they actually lived better then what he was saying in his music. People still call him a legend to this day. Truth is someone that big (no offence) couldn’t have been starved as a kid, but Biggie’s still one of my favourite rappers and forever will be.

    Assuming that’s true, which I’m not ready to admit, why should that be a problem for anyone? If one of the qualities that attracts fans to Saigon is his tendency to educate and enlighten, why should he criticize another artist for doing the same, regardless of whether he was the catatlyst for the change? I mean he did ‘Head of State’ with him in the first place right? If anything I would think that he should embrace an artist as talented and versatile as Papoose and work with him to change the game.

    FTR: I like Pap just as much as Sai, but this was quickly turned into a VS. topic. Before XXL was taken over by Interscope, they had a Show & Prove artical on Pap. I was listening to Papoose longer then I’ve been listening to Saigon.

    I like Saigon but I think only a few rappers out now can FUCK wit PAPOOSE. Jadakiss,Nas,Jay,Busta,Styles P.,Cassidy,Game and a few others are the only cats that can fuck wit PAP. But i got tired of pap. he talk about the same shit. his punchlines was great wen i first heard em. but now der are other rappers wit sick punchlines and sick flows. listen to saigon and compare to pap without being biased and u will agree saigon is the better rapper.
