Kiss and Styles quit?
Damn, E-dubbs just called me ecstatic about this. MTV News is reporting that Jadakiss and Styles, fed up with endless label politics and relentless efforts by 50 to blackball them, are quitting rap. Well, actually what they’re saying is they refuse to record anymore solo or LOX albums for Interscope. Besides the fact that 50 is obviously preventing Styles album from ever dropping, they said the last straw was when they found out that Ruff Ryders CEO’s Dee and Waa were negotiating with G-Unit behind their backs.
That right there is some disgusting shit on Dee and Waa’s part. I mean if 50 wants to be a bitch and prevent good music from coming out, while he floods the airwaves with his candy shop pop, that’s one thing, but that these dudes would actually think that Kiss would work with G-Unit in order to get his album out, that’s just crazy. I hate to see it come to this, but I guess they felt they had no choice. I hope Interscope knows what its doing, ‘cuz in the long run this is bigger than the LOX and 50 Cent. When any one artist has that much power over what the public gets to hear, we all have a problem.
In the article, Styles also expresses frustration with Diddy, who they just performed on stage with 2 weeks ago, for not releasing ownership of their publishing from the old Bad Boy days. But at the end of the day, the absolute worst part of all of this? The amount of shit G-Unit stans fans are gonna talk.

Let’s be real here though, you said “If 50 wants to prevent GOOD music from coming out..” You know damn well nothing they put out has been GOOD music. They had some hot songs here and there but GOOD music? Nope.
Now thats not to say 50 puts out GOOD music either. I believe both camps have had hot songs (G Unit & D-Block) but neither ever made anything that I would consider good contributions to the society of music. As good as I think GRODT was as an album, it wasnt GOOD music but a hot album.

hell yeah they’ve made good music. I’d even give 50 a few good songs to his credit. is it uplifting, inspiring music? no of course not (well except for Styles-X), but they’ve had their moments.

I think your using the term good music too loosely, mane. Good music should either be uplifting, inspiring or have some damn emotion behind it. Yelling and acting tough dont qualify as an emotion.

i jus had dis conversation wit my father because he likes 50 and we go at it but he sees my point and agrees. he seen this on MTV as well and informed me of it (yes my fatha he thinks hes a thug) but on a real note i told him that 50 is spoiled good at marketing his stuff but spoiled. the only reason 50 sells is because he thrives on beef and my fatha agreed he ended the conversation by saying “you do what you have to do to make money it’s tha hustle” so im not sayin he changed my mind its jus that he got ta do what he got ta do to survive. but e-dubbs i still got ta argue wit chu on sum things cuz i love it.

S, I already addressed Styles song “I’m Black” the concept was good but his lack of knowledge and ability to showcase anything made the song average. And “Why” was ok but he really didnt drop any gems. His line reference to G’Dubya and 9/11 was hardly anything other than a line.

at the end of the day, nobody in G-Unit is seeing Styles and Kiss and you can’t argue with that. I mean you can, but it’s useless. forget about who’s rich and who’s poor, it DOESN’T MATTER. They’re BETTER. To say there hasn’t been a good mixtape since clue is just you spitting rhetoric, cuz 90% of mixtape joints shit on actual albums and I’ll argue that anyday and give examples.

Mixtapes is trash dawg, period. Ali Vegas had a few good ones thats about it. Kiss is better lyrically than Gunit, but Styles is total garbage. Just my opinion. And theres more than spitting a hot 16 to making a good song. Kiss catalog cannot compare to 50′s just on the strength of GRODT.

Nobody said GRODT was anything near Illmatic. But it was 100 x better than Kiss album. Kiss albums have been so boring. He has had 3 or 4 good songs out of 12-15 on each album.
And you stay on this mixtape challenge. Dawg, how hard is it to take SOMEONE elses hot beat and spit 16 on it? That dont mean ish, anyone can do that.
