Still spending money from ‘88

Not that I care about the size of any rappers bank account, but if you want to get technical Jay is retired. From the Daily News:

Jay-Z has leapfrogged over Sean (Puffy) Combs as the most-moneyed hip-hop mogul - but Combs is cool with that.

"I’m just proud of Jay-Z. I’m happy it’s one of my friends," Combs told us at the Audemars Piguet boutique on E. 57th St. Tuesday as Jay stood by. "We’re gonna trade that No. 1 spot back and forth. He’ll give it back to me next year."

Jay-Z told us: "It’s all in the plan. I didn’t even expect it this year."

Puffy’s personal wealth - which Fortune mag estimated last year at $315 million - has not changed. But after Universal Music Group bought out Roc-A-Fella Records, which Jay-Z co-founded with Damon Dash and continues to run as president and CEO of Def Jam, the retired rapper’s personal pile spiked to about $320 million. The rich get richer: They both have signature watch deals at Audemars.

But Jay-Z doesn’t spend all his time in the back of a limo. Warner Music Group Chairman "Lyor [Cohen] and I rode our bikes to the Killers concert in Central Park this weekend," he told us. "I had such a great time."
