Snoop Dogg – Neva Left (Album Stream)

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Not only has Uncle Snoop Neva Left, but I think we all know he ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. Tonight he delivers his 15th album since his classic 1993 debut Doggystyle and as you can see from the artwork, he’s feeling nostalgic. The project features guest appearances from a wide array of guests including B-Real, Method Man, Redman, Wiz Khalifa, Too $hort, Devin The Dude, Rick Rock and Big Tray Dee among others.

The Underachievers – Renaissance (Album Stream)

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Beast Coast representatives AK and Issa Gold return with their third studio album, Renaissance. The project is the follow-up to last year’s It Happened In Flatbush mixtape and pretty much every track they’ve released from the tape thus far has been tight. The duo mostly go for self on this project with only a couple of guest spots from vocalist Mello.

Compton’s Buddy and KAYTRANADA deliver their recently announced joint EP, Ocean & Montana. The pair connected for 5 new tracks, and while I haven’t listened yet, the lead single “Find Me” was very encouraging.

Faith Evans & The Notorious B.I.G – The King & I (Album Stream)

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Faith Evans takes a stab at the album she never got to make with her late husband on The King & I, a collection of tracks featuring repurposed Biggie lyrics and new contributions from Faith, Lil Cease, Snoop Dogg and Voletta Wallace. Some of these songs are kind of unfortunate, but on the other hand, we did get a couple of fire verses out of Sheek Louch and Styles P, so there’s that. Between this and Puff’s ill-advised 2005 Duets album, you would hope this would be the last Big redux project that sees the light of day, but I wouldn’t put anything past anybody.

Willie The Kid & V Don – Deutsche Marks (Album Stream)

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Michigan MC Willie The Kid has been putting in work since the middle of the previous decade, but he’s been noticeably quiet for the past couple of years. That ends this week as he releases his first new project since 2015’s The Fly 3. The new album Deutsche Marks is a collaboration with Harlem producer V Don and having heard a number of the new tracks, I can tell you that The Kid’s flow is well intact and his bars are as fresh as ever. The album weighs in at an even 10-tracks and is as clean and efficient as the German engineering that the artwork and trailer reference, with just three very solid guest appearances from Smoke DZA, Meyhem Lauren and Roc Marciano.

It’s been 7 years since David Banner’s last album, the 9th Wonder-produced Death Of A Pop Star. Today he’s back with The God Box, a 15-track offering that Banner describes as “more than an album, it’s an art exhibit.” Banner is joined this go round by Big K.R.I.T, Black Thought, Cee-Lo Green, Trinidad James, Kap G, Raheem DeVaughn and others, and he handled much of the production himself.

Check out an early stream of the album below now courtesy of Mass Appeal and look for it on all major streaming services as of tomorrow.

Blac Youngsta – Birthday (Young Dolph Diss)

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Fresh out the box after turning himself in to police earlier this week in connection with the attempt on Young Dolph’s life in Charlotte back in February, Blac Youngsta wastes no time putting his thoughts on the record. On “Birthday,” Blac proclaims his innocence and rides on Dolph, claiming that the Memphis rapper’s name appears on some court papers and that he shot up his own truck.
