G Herbo – Humble Beast (Album Stream)

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

G Herbo finally delivers his debut solo album, Humble Beast. Herb has come a long way since he and Lil Bibby first grabbed my attention back in 2013. His name has changed and his profile has risen, but he’s still giving us that raw Chicago shit with no filter and scores of bars. The album features appearances from Windy City OG Bump J, international Rap star Lil Uzi Vert, R&B icon Jeremih and of course, his longtime partner Bibby.

Rapsody – Laila’s Wisdom (Album Stream)

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

The new album from Rapsody, Laila’s Wisdom, has arrived. She has been tidily in pocket on the project’s early singles, and the album boasts guest appearances from present-day luminaries such as Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak, as well as veteran lyricists like Busta Rhymes and Black Thought. Cardi B may be the female rapper getting most of the commercial market’s attention at the moment, but make no mistake, this is where you’re gonna find the BARS.

Young Thug & DJ Carnage – Young Martha (EP)

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

Young Thug and DJ Carnage connect for the new new Young Martha EP. I’m not gonna lie, the first two drops from this were fire, so I was hoping for more than just 4 tracks, but I’ll take it. Meek Mill and Shakka show up for the only guest appearances on “Homie” and “Don’t Call Me” respectively. Stream in full below.

Kevin Gates – By Any Means 2 (Mixtape)

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

Kevin Gates has been going through it with the legal system for the past year plus, but he’s determined to keep his name #inthesestreets, and today he drops the follow-up to his By Any Means mixtape from behind bars. Featuring a solitary guest appearance from PnB Rock, these tracks were obviously recorded some time ago, but the early leaks have sounded pretty fresh nonetheless.

Rock – Rockness A.P. (Album Stream)

Thursday, September 21st, 2017

Rock of Heltah Skeltah delivers his debut solo album, Rockness A.P. or After Price. While my Sean Price fandom is well documented, you have to understand that back in the Heltah Skeltah days, I actually heavily favored Rock over Ruck. That obviously changed with the second act of Sean’s career, but Rock never fell off for a second and is still to this day one of the nicest MCs to ever rep the BCC. The new album (it’s still crazy to think he never put out a solo project, although there have been mixtapes), features appearances from Tek, General Steele, Buckshot, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, M.O.P, Ras Kass and others.
