Watch Big Daddy Kane’s Tiny Desk Concert for NPR

Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

Usually a showcase for emerging or currently bubbling talent, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series throws it back with an appearance from one of the greatest of all time, Big Daddy Kane. I saw Kane perform probably 10 years ago and it still stands out as one of the best Rap performances I’ve ever witnessed. Watch below as he runs through “Raw,” “Smooth Operator” and “Ain’t No Half Steppin” before laying down some bonus bars live from the NPR offices over live instrumentation.

Listen to Action Bronson Covering Mary J. Blige

Friday, January 12th, 2018

Instead of spitting some previously unheard bars or recording a new song, Action Bronson decided to do a live cover of the Mary J. Watch Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Performance at the CFP

Tuesday, January 9th, 2018

Here’s Kendrick Lamar performing a medley of “DNA”, “ELEMENT”, “Humble” and the recently released “All The Stars” during halftime at the College Football Playoff National Championship game between Alabama and Georgia last night. Kendrick performed at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park, which is just across the street from the stadium, and I have to say that I’m a little disappointed that he didn’t use his platform to call out your president, who made a big show of coming on the field for the National Anthem and then scurrying out of the building prior to the performance. After the show, a new trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther ran which featured a tease of a new track with K.Dot and Vince Staples. Kendrick and TDE boss Top Dawg are executive producing the film’s soundtrack, which also includes “All The Stars”. Check it out below.
