This week we see the release of the latest posthumous J. Dilla project, the Motor City beat tape. This latest project features 19 rare and unreleased Dilla instrumentals, as well as an alternate mix of the entire tape by J.Rocc. Dilla’s mother, Ma Dukes Yancey, selected these beats personally and sequenced the album, which was conceived as a letter to her son and a homage to Detroit.
