Vince Staples – Big Fish Theory (Album Stream)

Thursday, June 22nd, 2017

Vince Staples is back with his sophomore solo album, Big Fish Theory. You have probably heard that Vince invoked the term “Afro-Futurism” when describing this project, and while he later walked the statement back a bit, that description probably isn’t too far off the mark. Vince was almost certainly referring to his lyrical content on the album, but first-time listeners will be struck by the electronic, techno-inspired beats that Staples raps over on this project.

To put it plainly, this doesn’t sound anything like Summertime ’06 or really any other body of work we’ve heard from the Long Beach MC in the past. Although they aren’t prominently credited, you’ll hear A$AP Rocky making a contribution on the chorus to “SAMO” and a fiery Kendrick Lamar verse on “Yeah Right.” The lone credited guest, Ty Dolla $ign helps close out the album with an appearance on “Rain Come Down” which was previously released.

Stream Big Fish Theory below now.

DJ Khaled – Grateful (Album Stream)

Thursday, June 22nd, 2017

It’s DJ Khaled’s world and the rest of us are just out here trying to collect keys. The King of Posse Cuts and Sultan of Snapchat returns with his 10th studio album, Grateful, and as is customary, he has brought along a star-studded cast of guests to help him take over the charts. We’ve already heard singles featuring the likes of Jay-Z & Beyonce, Chance The Rapper, Quavo and Justin Bieber, Drake, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. But even after liberating all of those massive records, Khaled’s still got some tricks up his sleeve. Elsewhere on the album, he’s got appearances from Pusha T, Jadakiss, Travis Scott, Rick Ross, Big Sean, Nas, Raekwon, Fat Joe, Future, Migos, Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz. And that’s not even the full lineup. There should absolutely be something for everybody on this album.

Stream below now.
