Lil Wayne Doesn’t Care About Black People

wayne-blm

Lil Wayne, who has been a millionaire since he was roughly 14-years old and existed in an enclosed bubble of wealth and privilege since, can not be bothered with the Black Lives Matter movement. Lil Wayne, who once again, is a multi-millionaire, is far too busy worrying about how he’s going to pay his bills.

From a new interview with the NY Times:

I was on a sports show recently, and I was asked a question like that about black lives or whatever. When we got off the air, [the host] Shannon Sharpe said: “I really want to commend you for answering like that, because you didn’t make something up just to make yourself one of us. And to make yourself a victim.” I’m not that. And honestly, I don’t care. I care what’s going on with me and my kids and my world and my mom and who’s going to pay this next bill. That’s what matters to me.

If that quote doesn’t convince you that Lil Wayne doesn’t care about Black Americans, consider this additional evidence from the same interview:

Are there rappers in the new school that are motivating you? Are you keeping up with Yachty, Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Kodak?

I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s names just now, so that should probably answer that question. I just do my own thing.

There you have it.

wayne’s whole original quote contained a statement from Wayne that he knows racism exists and that something should be done about it.

Wayne has not been a millionaire since he was 14, Cash Money was still a local label when he was 14 and I don’t Baby and Slim were paying him that much back then. And I seriously doubt he made a million off touring back then.

Lastly, not caring about these terrible new mumble rappers isn’t the same as not caring about Black people. Why would Wayne spend a second of his day keeping tabs on what new idiot rapper whose career will last less than three years just came out?

    I doubt, not I don’t. Autocorrect is a beast.
