Dipset – American Dream (Mixtape)

Friday, July 31st, 2015

Before you get to excited, just know that this is more of a Dipset & Friends type of joint than a proper Diplomats project per se. Jimmy and Zeke appear, as well as peripheral guys like Hell Rell, Sen City and Mel Matrix, but other than that it’s basically a smorgasbord of niggas from Harlem and people loosely affiliated with the Set. Styles P, Lil Wayne, Faith Evans, Dave East, Young Scooter, Rowdy Rebel, Nino Man and the late Chinx all pop up throughout for guest appearances.

Meek Mill – Wanna Know (Drake Diss)

Thursday, July 30th, 2015

Nearly 9 days, two responses and one false start after first calling Drake out on Twitter, Meek Mill sees fit to put his response on the record. The beat, produced by Jahlil Beats opens up with a sample of The Undertaker theme song before switching and it’s nuts. It also employs samples of the alleged Quentin Miller reference tracks.

At this point Drake’s two sublimal heavy drops and Meek’s failure to show up to a fight he started have swayed public opinion pretty heavily into the 6 God’s corner. It’s safe to say that Meek fans are gonna fuck with this regardless and hardcore Drake fans will dismiss it offhand, but the real question is can Meek sway those who are neutral or have no clear alliance?
