Lil Wayne Sues Birdman for $51 Million

Lil Wayne has made his ongoing battle with his father official by filing a $51 million lawsuit against his longtime benefactor and business partner. According to a report from TMZ, the suit seeks the release of Wayne from Cash Money records, the rights to all Young Money recordings (Drake, Nicki Minaj, etc.) and the $51 million sum. The suit claims that Birdman has withheld millions of dollars owed to Wayne for Tha Carter V LP, which he supposedly refuses to release. Initial reports about Wayne’s suit claimed he would seek about $8 million in advance money for the album, which I thought was a little light considering his value to that company.

They’ll settle for $10 million, Wayne will walk, and he’ll take Nicki and Drake with him. Baby will renege on making the settlement payment and all of the YM masters will be destroyed in a mysterious fire. Wayne should also avoid riding in the passenger seat on the Las Vegas strip for the foreseeable future. Ha.

Just playing with the above. If Birdman reneged on the settlement payment, they’d just re-file the suit.

I’m VERY interested in seeing if Birdman gives up those masters, though.
