This past weekend we learned of the untimely passing of yet another iconic Hip-Hop figure. Rodney Bryce, known to the world as DJ E-Z Rock, reportedly passed away on Sunday at the age of 46. A cause of death is not yet known, but the news came straight from his longtime partner and friend Rob Base.

In 1998, Base and E-Z Rock released “It Takes Two” and the song, which mixed Rob’s special brand of Harlem braggadocio with an uptempo House beat, became an instant classic. E-Z and Rob went their separate ways after the release of their debut album of the same name, but they eventually reunited for the 1994 LPm Break of Dawn, and they were spotted together at the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors ceremony in 2005.

Since the news of Bryce’s passing broke yesterday, several Rap legends have taken to social media to pay their respects to the late DJ.
