You Can Download De La Soul’s Entire Catalog Today, For Free

If you’ve ever tried to purchase any of De La Soul’s albums through any of the major digital music services, you may have been surprised to find that their early LPs were noticeably absent from these retailer’s extensive catalogs. This absence of the work of one of Hip-Hop’s greatest groups is due to an ongoing legal battle over sample clearances and shady contract stipulations that have stalled the roll out for years.

But today, in a remarkably benevolent move, the guys are making their entire catalog, from 3 Feet High and Rising through 2001’s AOI: Bionix, available for free download. The albums are only available until tomorrow at noon, so head over to the new De La site and get to downloading, a deal like this doesn’t come along every day.

In the coming weeks De La will start releasing new cuts from their upcoming project You’re Welcome, which will be their first new album since 2004’s The Grind Date. As if all of this wasn’t enough, you can also expect a 6-track EP with DJ Premier and Pete Rock called Preemium Soul on the Rocks to drop next month.
