The galaxy of Queens has produced some legendary mixtape DJs, but at the height of the G-Unit craze of the early 2000s, DJ Whoo Kid had the game in a Figure 4. 50 Cent was the undisputed champ of the NYC mixtape scene and the vast majority of his music hit the streets tagged with that now infamous “Whooooo Kid” drop. If it was coming out of South side Jamaica Queens, your boy was getting a piece. We caught up with the Haitian Sensation to get the background on his introduction to the industry and the stories behind some of his most iconic tapes. He also regaled us with tales of the crazy schemes he used to pull off for exclusives, his technique of instigating beefs just so he could premiere the responses and the time Big Pun pulled an UZI on him.
