You had to know this was happening. Kendrick helped orchestrate one of the biggest moments in Pap’s career, but that was then and this is now.

UPDATED: Papoose called into speak to Rosenberg about the track this morning, and shit got heated. Hit the jump to listen.

This is a brilliant marketing plan.

One verse has garnered Lamar millions in free advertising.

Niggas with no careers are helping fuel the buzz for Lamar next tape.

    Think about it.

They’ll be think pieces and response songs being made from now till next year. Lamar won’t need a single.

  6. rahrahrah Says:

I kinda wish pap hadn’t done this. Hoping that there might be some type of alliance after summer jam…but kendrick never really acknowledged that.

Pap was in the positon, and had positioned himself as KONY so it makes sense that he would crush Kendrick.

Damn Pap, why did you have to do him dirty like that?

  11. cOLD Says:

He aint had to do that boy like that… Damn Pap.

1st he said he gaffled him for the summer jam appearance, then went on to call him all kindsa fuck bois.

  12. S.I.K.H Says:

I swear if he would`ve rapped monotone ala Guru, niggas would`ve said something about that.smh

In all reality ALL the control songs are one spin status,I`m over it.

only reason Kendrick was pushed to the forefront, was to assist with the feminizaton of the black man.

    ^ that might strike a nerve…

Just read how Jay cleared the sample for Takeover.

    Follow me for a second.

Imagine if Just Blaze cleared the sample for “Control”, and put it on Jay Electronica’s album.

That would be the perfect marketing plan. Come out in the fall with that as the lead single. And just to be nasty keep the song name as “Control”, just to show that you really are in control of this rap game..

Remember Jay’s verse is almost totally off topic, more in fitting with the spiritual chant that’s interwoven through the song.

People united will never be defeated
“¡El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido!” is a very famous song of the Nueva Cancion Chilena (New Chilean Song) movement. The song was composed by Sergio Ortega and written by Quilapayún in June 1973.

That would be the coup…..but it will never happen, Right?
