    Good Kid Mad City
    Life Is Good
    Habits and Contradictions
    The Stoned Immaculate
    Only Nigga In First Class
    Baby Face Killah
    Live from the Underground
    Rare Chandeliers
    Don’t Be S.A.F.E.
    Finally Rich
    Cancer For Cure
    Pluto
    Blue Dream & Lean
    Trilogy
    ^

Honestly Good Kid Mad City, Life Is Good, Reloaded, that Ka joint, and that Homeboy Sandman and half of that Q were the only things with true reply value. So I dunno to me 5 1/2 albums with reply value in 12 months is a drought.

  2. jderrida Says:

    five is bigger than one

    ^^^

    Fact.

  3. Fyodor Drostoevsky Says:

    Seriously

I always wondered what his day is like

    *Wakes up at noon*
    *Hops in the booth*
*Shouts self aggrandizing nonsense for 10 minutes*
    *Collects paycheck*
    *Goes back to bed*

  5. General Glamour Says:

Larry Bird said … MJ saying it now …

Clearly the Gods of this Basketball shit are not pleased with the level of praise LeBron been getting without having the hardware to back in up

    Kobe >>>>>

  6. HolidayKirk Says:

Trilogy doesnt really count by the way. That bein’ said Pluto still gets mad spins from me.

    Eh…

All of those albums have at least one song with a years worth of replay vale, imo.

    Eh…

Got to look at this shit like the nba draft. Not every nicca will be a super star and not every year will a team draft a franchise player.

You shouldn’t expect every project to drop to have that much value after the first listen. Not all art is that special. But it was a good “draft” last year. Few niccas kept all of our subjective attention spans listening long enough.

    Def not a drought.

Thanks, this isnt nearly as funny as I hoped it would be.

  14. General Glamour Says:

People getting mad at Weezy talking about Emmett Till

People getting mad at Trinidad promoting Molly

Since when did people start paying attention to what rappers say ???

That’s what I thought as well

I don’t know how McLovin got involved with that

    Hope his career is okay

Glad he fucks with hip-hop tho

Music is Fast Food in 2013.

  17. HolidayKirk Says:

Day one classics are hard to come by. Its a marathon, not a print. People might be talking about Flockaveli long after My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is forgotten, its hard to tell.

There were a lot of classics in the 90s.

Plenty of albums you can pop in and listen to right now

Those albums have had time to gestate and reveal themselves as classics. Time lays a veil of poetry over things like this. I actually think Flockaveli is a classic but I wont be able to get anyone to agree with me until its influence plays out over the next couple years.

    Illmatic was an instant classic

Cuban Linx was an instant classic

Those niggas knew as they were recording

    Some things are readily apparent

  26. HolidayKirk Says:

Once you can look at music in retrospect it takes on a certain nostalgia, a quality that isnt really there. People forget how fucking awful Ja Rule now that his music isnt being crammed down your throat by radio/tv/passing Escalades.

  27. General Glamour Says:

    Instant Classics

    Get Rich or Die Trying

    College Dropout

    Blueprint

    Reasonable Doubt

    Obviously not a complete list

‘I am the bullet in the chamber’: Nike ad pulled from Pistorius web site

Save the debate about using weaponry or violent imagery to sell athletic shoes for another day.Right now, the news is this: A Nike ad starring Oscar Pistorius and the theme “I Am the Bullet in the Chamber” disappeared from the paralympian’s web site after he was charged today with fatally shooting his girlfriend.Pistorius also appeared in Nike’s 2008 “This is my weapon” campaign. The “Bullet” ad shows the South African double-amputee, nicknamed “Blade Runner,” shooting out of the starting blocks. Pistorius, a two-time gold medalist at the 2012 Paralympics, competed at the London Summer Olympics last year too.He was charged Thursday for killing his 29-year-old model Reeva Steenkamp at his South African home. A 9mm pistol was recovered at the scene.“This is a very unfortunate story and it is still under investigation,” Seruscka Naidoo, Nike South Africa spokesperson, told Britain’s The Sun. “We’ll not make any decision until we hear from Oscar or his agent.”

    Rap is oversaturated now

Plus we live in a 24/7 news cycle, short attention span era

Life moved slower in the 90s

Shit niggas still played music in cassette

The times affect the music and art

We living in fast times and we getting fast music

    Nah, not always

When Basketball had MJ we didn’t realize what we had ?

Your whole thesis is based on the audience not being self aware

I truly don’t believe that’s always the case

  39. HolidayKirk Says:

Is Pistorius claiming self defense? I caught something on the news at the gym about how he thought she was an intruder.
