THIS. Cats are making mountains out of piles of dogshit. The Untitled album was conceptual, not autobiographical, makes sense that Nas would get some outside input.

I think collaborating on writing (not just lines but verses/hooks/songs) is common in rap, so I don’t see it as a big deal
but at the same time since lyrics take precedence above everything else for a lot of people in hip hop, I understand the outrage

nah, rappers get help w/ hooks all the time, from jigga (i just wanna love you, big pimpin, put ya hands up, etc) to lupe fiasco.
concepts too- some people enjoy having others to share ideas they may not be able to immediately articulate on a page.
