since the black album…american gangster was the last greatest introspective hov album recorded.

WTT is a supergroup album. big marquee anthemic music. it doesn’t belong in the debate.

BP3 is hov basically letting pop culture now he still runs shit. the same as he did with his sprinkled pop singles on his best &/or classic albums.

since when hov dropped a radio single dud after reasonable doubt?

i won’t wait for that answer tho.

    Pretty much

  87. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

I kind of live in the past for music anyhow. I’m still rocking out with RD, vol 1 2 & 3 getting different meanings out of them.

And that 3 Kings verse is still dope to me. Still.

So, while I would love for Jay to come with some Grail worthy rap shit in this day and age, I’m content if he doesn’t. He blessed me with enough already.

“You Must Love Me” “Can’t Knock The Hustle” “Politics As Usual” The Intro on BP1….

Come on people. You gotta know that man put it down for us. He represented all the way up to this point.

  88. why? Says:

This Domo x Alchemist shit is pretty good. Alchemist one of the best to sample rock shit since Rick Rubin.

    Domo > Currenthsy

  89. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

He can’t pull off a Life Is Good kind of album.

But I bet he’s gonna try with his next one

    Nas >>>>>>>>>>>> Jay-Z

    ^

    ABSOLUTE.

And he tried kinda with AG. But he made a mistake and put NaS on it and NaS had the best verse on the album, ,lol.

  90. hood trill stunting aka trap day man Says:

I don’t have high expectations for a Jay album.

    > whether high or low…it makes no sense to come off like you’re disinterested. he’s not flooding your media outlets with music like gunplay. so when he does drop…chances are you’re checking for it. it’s premier pop culture shit.

like when someone mentions a fatty on a reality show that you ain seen…

you google shorty with a quickness. it is what it is. whas the future in frontin on that?

  91. hl Says:

Domo isn’t wack, but it sounds like he shouldn’t be rapping. Dude sounds too plain. Feels like I’m listening to myself. I need to give is a good listen though.

  92. AmpGeez a.k.a. Amphernee Hardaway Says:

now lets compare that to the twist & turns in the average hov verse despite ye influence.
    ^^^

The cleverness, the wit, the sly humor…those are the things I liked most about Jay-Z as a rapper.

And those are the same attributes that are waning somewhat in the 2nd half of his career.

I appreciate the man’s catalog & I really dug WTT.

But I don’t particularly want another Jay-Z solo album. If he never dropped another LP, I wouldn’t be mad at him at all.

  93. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

Hov say simple shit and make it seems so fly.

Nigga, I ain’t been in a Catholic church in half a decade but when he said, “Lord forgive me I never would’ve made it without sin. Holy Water, my face in the basin. Diamonds in my rosary shows he forgave him…”

I damned near walked out my front door down to the church up the street just to stick my face in prayer bowl.

Nigga, that’s how fly that shit was.

  94. F YOU PAY ME! Says:

    Ok ok so

    Domo > Spitta

yall not checking for a hov solo

    frauds get co signed

    im done

I said that’s what I like about Jay-Z, not Curren$y. They are clearly not the same.
