90′s went hard on niggas …if there was no outlet such as the internet hip-hop wouldn’t be in shambles.

…every nigga that can record a song ain’t meant to be heard, if you making REAL noise niggas gonna listen.

any nigga can manipulate the web into believing niggas is really hot.

but it took skill to have a nigga appreciate your shit so much he’s willing to TRAVEL or buy a ticket to your show.

internet killed that aspect of hip-hop

    I don’t understand…

why not take the pic with an actual glove, outside a real ring, with an actual belt, using X’s real body? Lol

Why go through the tedious task of processing this pic when you can take a real one.

Since there’s no question mark, I guess I’m taking this as a declarative statement & ignoring the fact one of X’s biggest hits shares the same title.

Just noticed it’s “Were” instead of “Where” which makes it a completely different song, right?

    >>>>> Crack/Cocaine

i repeat….adobe, youtube and the internet made it affordable for fuck niggas to survive.

the nigga who made this cover is a “graphic artist” (who didn’t graduate the 7th grade).

he put a real photographer, make up artist, stylist, and record label out of a job cause adobe made it affordable for him to call himself a “professional”.

in return DMX lost, dre lost and hip hop lost and mad niggas won’t even listen on the strength that cover made earl look broke and starving…and like dre had nothing to do with this.

‘Another months upon months of rumors and speculation, Teyana Taylor’s signing with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music was finally made official this afternoon. The Harlem native, who also acts in films and TV shows joins the imprint/collective after previously appearing on a slew of tracks on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. She provided back-up vocals on “Dark Fantasy,” “Hell Of A Life,” and “Runaway,” along with non-album holidays cut “Christmas In Harlem.”

  14. Casket Face Says:

regardless of the image niggas have of dmx …he seems to come off as a niggas just tryna figure out life.

I was underwhelmed from the jump.

These niggas don’t really belong rapping alongside each other.

I’d rather a new G.O.O.D. Fridays series then a retail album that’s gonna be just as in-cohesive.

  19. Casket Face Says:

crack gave us belly, romeo must die, exit wounds …. it’s dark and hell is hot, flesh of my flesh, then there was x and grand champ.

After And Then There Was X, aside from the occasional single (“Get It On The Floor”, “X Gonna Give It To Ya”), I stopped paying attention.

SN – “Get It On The Floor” & “X Gonna Give It To Ya” are two of the GOAT suspect rap song titles.

I remember in his book he was talking about being locked in his room as a kid with no toys for an entire summer or some shit.

Oh, and he brought Freeway onstage.

Well, “brought” might not be the appropriate word. Rapper and Philadelphia native Freeway ended up onstage. I’m not going so far as to say Freeway pulled a Lil Mama, because he didn’t look surprised or upset, but it became obvious toward the end of the seven-minute press conference that Shawn and his onetime protégé hadn’t discussed the post-conference protocol. Or maybe Jay just assumed that Freeway understood that when people who own things and run metropolitan areas are taking pictures, IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO GET OFF THE STAGE. The following is what happens when assumptions are coupled with thinking it’s still 2003:

    grantland.com/blog/hollywood-prospectus/post/_/id/49519/jay-z-announces-philly-festival-has-no-use-for-lingering-philly-rapper

    LMAO

  39. rex hussla Says:

When I first saw this, I laughed. I laughed and I laughed because I love disrespect. In addition to general disrespect, I love disrespecting Freeway, because one time he took part in an almost career-ending freestyle battle with Cassidy. (He lost. Badly.) In addition to regular disrespect and Freeway disrespect, I also love Philly disrespect, because too much is going their way of late (76ers, Meek Mill, Liberty Bell) and something needed to happen to bring them back down to earth. That thing: having one of your finest sons booted from the big kids’ table and told to go count that stack of Legos at stage left.

But after my internal hate tirade, I began to feel bad. I mean, did Jay really have to do Freeway like that? I know he was in full illuminati mode this morning, and trust me, they were watching, but couldn’t he at least let him stay for one picture and then ask him to leave? These thoughts went through my head for about two minutes, and then I finally wised up and realized Jay did exactly what he should have done. The only person to blame in this situation is Freeway. He brought this upon himself, an embarrassment that eventually led to this (courtesy of Instagram and Respect magazine editor-in-chief Elliott Wilson):

  40. rex hussla Says:

This Jay-Z dismissal is another classic example of him not purposefully being disrespectful, but very obviously acknowledging the distance between him and his protégés. Lest we forget, Jay is the man who once said about mentee/glorified hypeman Memphis Bleek, “Bleek can be one hit away his whole career, as long as I’m alive he’s a millionaire.” What happened on that stage this morning is Jay expressing the same sentiment regarding Freeway. It’s Jay saying: “As long I’m alive and have kindness in my heart, I’ll give you, Freeway, some screen time and a weekly allowance, but when it comes to your career, you’re a loser. But I love you. Loser.”
