    What exactly is Ransom lacking?

Cause he can rap, but no one seems to care.

^ WELP. I agreed wholeheartedly with joseph.

  4. E aka Mac with the Cheese Says:

Ransom’s one of my favourite post-2000 rappers but Joseph went in on that track

There should still be a lane for Ran’s brand of rap.

Gritty East Cast street shit with punchlines & slick talk galore.

I just don’t think he’s all that good on his own. The A-Team worked for him & maybe a group situation is where he needs to be.

But with who? All the official NY MC’s from his class have either fallen the fuck off or are still on the mixtape circuit.

Niggas need real estate brokers licenses b.

    >>> Buying music digitally.

    Never that.
    ——————-

Right! I never understood the logic that goes into coppin music off of iTunes. If Ima do that why not just side-step the credit card info and go cop from the nearest torrent for free?…..

I commend anyone else who does it but I see no value in digital downloads, I need physical copies so KNOW my money was well spent

    ^

This way of thinking is backwards– for independent artists, distributing music online eliminates a HUGE cost and ensures that people who want to support can support.

For the fan, purchasing the music (in any way) is doing nothing but helping the artist and ensuring they can make a living off their music. The more people who buy, the more they can ask for for shows and increase their touring radius, allowing them to generate more money across the board.

^ There is, it just has to combined with good songwriting, a lot of these rappers need producers, not a nigga that can make a beat, a nigga that can make a record.

if ransom don’t add a southern drawl to his flow like the rest of these new tri-boro rap regional dick ridin niggas heengonmakeit.

stop tryna over analyze. his flow obsolete.

  11. AmpGeez a.k.a. Amphernee Hardaway Says:

I thought about it but I realized, no amount of production alone is gonna get Ran over.

You could pair him up with Alchemist & let them do an EP of joints & I still doubt he’d be able to make an impact comparable to Prodigy or Curren$y, who did exactly the same thing.

There’s an intangible that Ransom is missing.

^ kinda agree. But Ran got songs too. I think bars are so potent they undermine the efficiency of the songs. Take phone home for example… Great song. But after listening you don’t know whether to reflect on the songs message or the brolic bars and rhyme scheme that perfected it.

^ damn shame this is the truth. Every successful east coast mc has done this. From French to red cafe to ASAP. …

^ what if the intangible thats missing is the listening puplics and not ransoms. I mean who don’t like raw gutter hip hop over great production. Radio has shy’d away from this sound past couple years
