Audio: Kendrick Lamar Interview w/ Bootleg Kev

So the homie Kendrick Lamar called up and checked in on Wednesday nights edition of R.E.D.Y. Set Radio. We spoke on a lot of different things including: His new single “The Recipe”, writing Dr. Dre’s verse for the record, his first session ever recording with Dre, how he is selecting the material to make the album, stuff that he has learned from being in the studio with Dre and Pharrell, the progression of Schoolboy Q as an artist, how he feels about Schoolboy Q not making the XXL Freshman cover, the possibility of working w/ Kanye, the Interlude on Drake’s album and the concept for it, having Gun Play on Cartoons and Cereal, and much more!

See, there’s something wrong here with this statement. And it’s not just you, Double 0. But I constantly see cats on here talking about how they have to “revisit” an album or “give a second or third listen” to a mixtape. It’s like now there’s this mentality that it’s perfectly fine to force yourself to like something in order to understand what’s hot/trendy. Believe it or not, but there was actually a time when fans were DRAWN to artist and their music. Truly quality art has that sort of natural gravitational characteristic about it.

  9. THe KiD FRanKiE Says:

I agree brick. If there ain’t no strong cosigns or I don’t buy into their “image” I’m Not gonna listen. That’s just da nature of the beast.
The artist is selling you something sometimes he sellin reality rap, others fantasy. And alot of subgenres. I’m not sayin it’s right I’m just sayin IMO that’s w time it is now

I’m buyin into your lifestyle/image and then the music (order may vary) but say that isn’t true.

We believes PAC was livin what he rapped, same wit big, early jay, nas etc

    Now a days
    I.dont.believe.niggas

    Spitta ain’t Lyin doe

  10. cOLD Says:

    *daps the Fuckboi elite*

  11. Bricktop Says:

word. image plays a big part. always has. lifestyle as well. it’s allot harder to sell an image or lifestyle today with all the overexposure from blog sites posting your every daily activity.

  12. cOLD Says:

Say word you don’t lay on your stomach on the bed with your knees bent and heels facing the ceiling, crossing them at the ankle?

Straight fuck boi shit. I bet you twirl the phone cord around your index finger too trondo fuck boy

  13. cOLD Says:

    Image and reflection

The culture is doomed. Neither one of the two things mentioned above is real. So basically you have people reflecting images not even reflecting realness.

  14. cOLD Says:

With each copy the quality becomes less and less

Until finally there is no trace of the original

    Switching gears tho…. PUSS>>>

  15. cOLD Says:

If it ain’t ransom or WTK I ain’t listening. I’ve grown accustomed to and developed a formula to decipher Fuckboi rappers at-a-glance. Could be the name. Might be the album art… Shits dead on 99% of the time. Might give you 15 secs at most to prove me wrong.
