Video: Boldy James Interview w/ OnSMASH

Boldy James catches up with OnSMASH during his stay in Los Angeles, as he worked on his upcoming EP with The Alchemist.

In our interview, Boldy explains what brought him into the rap game and gives all credit to his cousin Chuck Inglish, who looked out for him and inspired him to tell his story through songs. After serving a few stints in jail, Boldy took his talents to the booth and hasn’t looked back since.

Now, after various mixtapes and critical acclaim in the Detroit scene, he is enjoying the fruits of that labor. Check out Boldy speak on everything from having an image, to the drug game, how he got his name and what the future holds.

Stay tuned for his upcoming project with Alchemist, as we leave you with a verse from one of the tracks.

He has no bars that stand out, that are impressive…

He does a couple different flows, yeah. But technically, when it comes to bars, I think he’s average emcee. From a strictly rapping perspective.

Yeah he can do pop songs and make a hit with a sing songy hook, yeah he can do an introspective song, yeah. But I’m talking about bars.

I don’t really care if you have a flourishing career, it aint my money, it aint my fame. I just care about the music.
