In 2012 the rap game aint what it used to be like in the mid to late 90’s and early 2000’s…….Everything is affordable and accessible, people can go to best buy or guitar center and become a rapper/producer/DJ with out having to put in too much effort…..The artists who take the time out to build a solid fan base that will support their music and merchandise out live the influx of aspiring rappers who are better off working entry level jobs….Social media gave EVERYBODY an outlet to be their own superstar…..It’s just up to the individual person to filter out the bullshit they don’t want to associate with…If an artist can branch off from the internet and turn their buzz into actual profit….more power to ’em! I always looked at it as long as you can wake up smoke the best weed, record the best music possible, and your family is taken care of (i.e. home owner, not renting a studio apt) than you good as far as this rap shit is concerned……Sheeeit, there’s regular niggaz that can’t even managed to pay their bills or take care of their kids……Yall be thinking these niggaz is millionaires……Nah, lotta of em is thousandaires…..You gotta think if an artist is hot, he performing at least 2-3 times a week….Like a nigga like 2Chainz is eating good off that chitlin’ circuit…..2-6k starts to add up if you doing maybe 10 shows a month…..Dudes pick up fucked up habits and fuck off an average niggaz yearly salary in under a year, that’s the issue……I aint mad at this rap shit, cuz if you HOT, you eating bottom line….. Wale for all the hate, is eating off show money….Curren$y is eating off show money…..As an artist ya bread n’ butter is SHOW MONEY….Music Biz 101!
Looks like mini Philly/bmore
for the most part Philly just spills into northern Delaware. if the signs weren’t there, you couldn’t really tell where one stopped and the other started. but that’s just the northern 1/3 of the state. the other 2/3’s? farmland and beaches.

Social media gave EVERYBODY an outlet to be their own superstar…..
^would u blame MySpace?
Maybe….Who knows!? I aint mad at Myspace, FB, or Twitter….it’s just w/ any social media forum you will find people who want to achieve the same type of celebrity fame that their favorite artist has…..Social media is a gift and a curse, becuz I’ve discovered so many new and dope artists becuz of it, but I also have to avoid spammers who just spam links to music I never requested in the first place…..It’s like high school, you gonna always have those kids in the lunch room who wish they were the popular ones, so social media leveled the playing field to where we know the names of great artist like MJ and Whitney as well as “internet sensations” Eli Porter and Antoine Dodson……Like I said you gotta know how to filter out the BS! The net is a great marketing and promotion tool, artist in 2012 have NO CHOICE but to connect via social media…..but…..there’s negatives and positives…..for every internet success story like an Odd Future there is a random MC posting annoying music links in the same types of forums alienating listeners….
