    =====================
He was a C.O, stop it!

Nobody cares about it anymore, so it seems.

But a lotta C.O’s are sadistic fucks.

I bet he had a lotta of piss and shit thrown on him as a result.

  4. Bricktop Says:

Rap sucks because the only new(er) artists breaking any new ground creatively, sonically, musically, etc all look and act like they’ve had dicks waved in their faces. And liked it. And no self respecting grown heterosexual man can honestly be proud of supporting that shit publicly. Like someone said earlier, there used to be quality options if you didn’t like one superstar. Now it’s either roll with the homos or find another genre. Shit’s disgusting, b.

  5. Danny Ocean Says:

Lots of rappers are about 60 – 75% real and embellish.

Ricky might be at the 10 – 20% ratio.
    _____

a lie is a lie is a lie though, right?

if a rapper likes about 25% of his raps, or 55% of his raps…really, what’s the difference?

if a bitch cheats on her husband with 3 dudes or 8 dudes…she’s still cheating.

Rozay shouldn’t get crucified when it’s almost certain your favorite rapper has just as many skeletons in the closet as him.

it’s entertainment, not medicine or law. artistic integrity and merit only goes so far.

  6. rex hussla Says:

you couldn’t be that fugazi back in those days though. Those were the days of getting booed off stage, having shit thrown at you, riots at shows for wack shit and all that.

Rappers back in those days used to beat each other up, there’s all sorts of stories. If you weren’t real or didn’t have the heart you just weren’t gonna make it, plain and simple.

The blog era gives us more access, but waaaaaaaay more leeway and acceptance. It’s like night and day.

It bugs me out to think people hated tical 2000… if only they knew what they would be hearing today.

    LMAO

  9. Bricktop Says:

only reason more rappers weren’t outed and having their credibility and backgrounds questioned in the 90s and early 2000s was because social media and blogs weren’t as strong as they are today.
    ^
    This made me laugh.
To an extent, your right. But you’re also discounting the fact that in the 90’s even the softer rappers HAD to at least roll with a crew of street respected types. The behind the scenes aspect was allot more aggressive than media outlets were willing to report. Fuck, just look at the FBI file that got released on the Wu recently.

  10. Harlem World Says:

Cosign most rappers just being an image.

This right here. It used to be checks and balances to this shit. Now all that shit is dead. I say let the street gangsters back in the boardrooms for the sake of quality music. BIG and Pac was a long time ago. Bring the grimy back to the forefront.

I used to hate Jay for his first 2 or 3 albums, because I had LOTS of options.

Lets be real though, there aren’t those options these days.

    ^^
if i knew the secret to entering the Industry
would i do it until i couldn’t get no sleep?

  13. Bricktop Says:

Ask Prodigy, Fat Joe, Snoop, Keith Murray, Mase, Premier, Ghost, Jay, Nas, Cormega, Nature, Cam, DMX, and a long list of others who literally put their lives on the line every time they stepped when they stepped in the booth. Rappers used to be held accountable for the shit they said. Sure you could embellish and tell stories, but someone was always there waiting to test you once you stepped off stage.

    Now?

  14. rex hussla Says:

a lie is a lie is a lie though, right?

not really though. The case of Rick Ross is different than anything else that’s ever been in rap. The only thing I can think of is that gangster chick Boss (What a coincidence), but as soon as she was exposed her career was done instantly.

  15. Bricktop Says:

Tupac didn’t die for Ross to persevere off of flagrant lies.

  16. Stot Says:

    thug life is for idiots.

being a 30 year old successful artist with a 9-5 as a CO as a 19 year old on my resume > having a solid street rep and being shot dead at 24

staying alive doesn’t get enough credit.

So miss me with all that “a lie is a lie…. It’s just an image… yadda yadda” bullshit. I came up in a different era when the industry used to check and eliminate the bullshit so the listener wouldn’t have to. But now that’s called hating.

Rozay’s background in law enforcement is a total non issue at this point in his career.

and the fact that Ross had a job in the field that exists in direct opposition to his current persona as a drug dealing rapper…and it gets totally overlooked… is just a testament to how dope his music is.

FOH. This is rap. Shit wasn’t meant to be safe. Ask Chuck D. Ask KRS. You want safety? Go be an r&b singer. It’s like the people who complain about the NFL being too dangerous. Fuck it, don’t play. Go earn a living doing something safe then, faggot. All this sensitivity shit is for the bitches. Times are hard and fucked up. The rap game is supposed to represent that.

  35. E aka Mac with the Cheese Says:

the real Freeway Rick Ross was a federal informant

rap isn’t any less a facade and fictional now than it was 15 years ago. the rap game ain’t change.

you just grew up. and your perspective changed.

because guess what? every older generation thinks the new generation is wack and not as thorough as the one before it.
