    American Gangster is ILL …

LF: I like the inspiration that a JE collabo seems to illicit in Hov’s lyrics and flow. You can tell he retreats to goat-mode ala more introspective than say a feature with a J.Cole … talkn ’bout nice watches and whatnot …

    even in tardiness, JE >

    So Chi too trill

  13. Jackson7 Says:

if you rap, and you aint from New York, New Jersey , Philly, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis/StPaul, L.A., Jamaica, England, Africa, or Oakland, then i dont respect it

  14. cOLD Says:

when “made” rappers, start putting out remix’s and mixtapes, its really a drastic attempt to recapture fans that have been falling off. Its a distress sign and hurts more than it helps. Because those that know see it as a weakening once giant in the industry about to fall fuck off. And who doesnt like to see a classic fall from glory.

  15. Beezy Says:

    co-disrespect rappers from Georgia

Blame the docile nature of the Yeezy movement, Skateboard P and the general faggotry of the new generation. They just want that bread, they ain’t tryna teach or innnovate, they just wanna stay in marvin’s room and cry about their feelings … Drake still >, tho ..

^I don’t know … “freestyling” over other peoples beats for mixtapes been a part of the genre for like 2 decades

that said, when Jeezy does it, it reeks of desperation

    others not as much

^ a sparse freestyle here and there is cool, you letting the people know you still do this. (c) hov’s grammy family freestyle.

But whole mixtapes, and you an established artist?…. nah fam.

^ point taken, but he dropped those at the height of his stardom… technically a little different from a wavering once GOAT.

    *blank stare*

I agree its played out NOW, but mixtapes kept a LOT of niggas in the game who wouldn’t have a second shot (Curtis, Cameron, Jason, and David off the top of my head)

I don’t think rapping over other niggas beats is a problem– its when niggas start shooting videos and doing trailers and shit for other niggas songs.

    Co-sign No Ceilings

Better than a lot of albums or mixtapes of all original songs

if you gonna rap over someone elses song you gotta make me forget the original. You gotta destroy it

^ MY POINT EXACTLY. Everyone you mentioned its been an up hill fight just to say relevant. With the Exception of Raekwon who released a classic on the hells of a mixtape.

  36. Gravity Says:

Jeezy fell off when he allowed his hatred to cloud his judgment on what to do with McSeizure’s BMF monstrous hit…

Nigga should’a been on a remix and lent the song more credibility, then hit dude with some subliminals …

Emotional decisions always pale in comparioson to calculated and tactful politicing ..
