yeah.. except for President Carter (i think), that LP is terrible…

i never took mines outta winrar … its on line at the Recycling BIn as we speak… wow @ how bad that joint sucked… the beats were stale and amateurish bammafests

  49. Smooth Says:

Cole World is a solid and impressive debut. There’s around 7 GREAT tracks.
However, the production can be sloppy and repetitive at parts. The subject matter is also repetitive too. A wider range of song concepts would have made it a truly great album, rather than recycling the same subject matter over and over.

    8/10

  50. whywonttheseniggasSTFU Says:

Em really endured that 8mile struggle though.. no?

i mean Jay-Z’s voice aint all that either…

i dont know what it is with cole.. his music really isnt bad its jut not definitively good either…

  51. DJ Chase Says:

For me, Waynes album was a nice contrast to WTT. WTT is such a technical and lyrically loaded album, that Wayne’s simple rhymes and bass knocking beats offer a nice change when i’m in the whip for long periods of time.

  52. Jackson7 Says:

^Niggas only like it when other niggas with deep voices are in their ear…

    ————

you missing the point… its not about nothing assinine… its just that certain frequencies dont appeal to certain people… i cant listen to someone if they voice is shrill and annoying to me..

i dont listen to Keyshia Cole or Patti LaBelle for the same reason..

nothing to do with niggas deep voices in my ear b…

i dont know what it is with cole.. his music really isnt bad its jut not definitively good either…

^ exactly my point… he’s like the pupil student of rap, with no real life experience to vouch for. Thats why technically his a dope mc, but his rhymes are uninspired.

  56. DJ Chase Says:

    @ Land & Cold

I hear what yall are saying. For land, its the pitch. Ok. I can dig it. For Cold, and this i agree with, he has no “presence” on a track.

I get that too. Its like how i feel about KRIT. I can’t get past the bamma slang. And He could be on a track, and I’d miss everything he says, cuz to me his presence is null and void.

With all that said, this cole album is solid, to me

  57. sarjo1988 Says:

    —————–

no youre wrong .. im a wutang fan not necessarily a ghostface stan..

    i ALWAYS put

    Raekwon >>>>>>>

and niggas be saying nah, Ghostface >

and it aint just the voice … like cOLD saiid… its the conviction… and presence… and cocky demeanor that lets the listener feel that you KNOW you killing them bars..

JayZ and Camron are the EPITOME of that commanding presence..

it aint always about high or deep voices or how real you are…

its simply about how fly you sound, saying that shit..

    Cole not fly

    at all

  60. whywonttheseniggasSTFU Says:

    @sarjo

im not trying to attack dude or his music…

if you read what i said im actually defending him.. at least the part about struggling and whatnot…

  61. sarjo1988 Says:

exactly my point… he’s like the pupil student of rap, with no real life experience to vouch for. Thats why technically his a dope mc, but his rhymes are uninspired
    ^
how do u know? where did he state he never struggled before? ive heard him tell many stories of struggle in his raps, but also raps about climbin up the ladder on his own n shit? idk where u niggas gettin info from

    ^
spaceship was pretty relatable to most people

  64. cOLD Says:

that niggas voice is hella shrill and annoying.. but his rhymes are impeccable…

^ I think it was Jay who said his voice is like another instrument added to the track… FLOW, PITCH, SOUND.

    Ghost does that well.

  65. Jackson7 Says:

^ok.. then how do we explain kanye west?

    ———

    easily..

the nigga voice, flow and delivery is so cocky and arrogant yet rythmic…

thats wht Ye dont need complex wordplay and advanced lyricism…

    he has “it”

  66. sarjo1988 Says:

im not taking it as ne one is bashing cole. i jus dont understand ur point of view of he never struggled. i dont see that documentation newhere, but ive heard prob every single j cole track, and there r a handful where he speaks on struggle, and making it out of it

  67. DJ Chase Says:

exactly my point… he’s like the pupil student of rap, with no real life experience to vouch for. Thats why technically his a dope mc, but his rhymes are uninspired.

^Trust, I get your point about “experience” but i don’t agree. His life aint been the typical rapper struggle. But his experiences are what he rhymes about. His pops aint shit, he now gets pussy and fucks bitches, he owe sallie mae student loan payments, his niggas is on the block. Thats the life of at least 50% of the people that comment here.

Shit aint exciting, but he portrays it well.

  68. whywonttheseniggasSTFU Says:

its like kanye breaks every rule that is almost mandatory to being a dope mc…

kanye grew up in chicago.. but hes definitely NOT about that thug life…

his content isnt dark and violent in a street sense…

but hes got that “it” thats necessary…

  70. Hoskins Says:

    WHERE IS CHARLES HAMILTON?

His mental breakdown might have cost him millions. In 2008 he was making better songs than Cole and drake

  71. Jackson7 Says:

ghostface and fat-joe have that relateable street/gangsta/thug presence on the mic and in videos, that everyone that grew up in that environment can relate to..

everyone in the city/hood/ghetto/barrio knows niggas like Fat joe and Ghost…

  72. sarjo1988 Says:

    for me after:
    sideline story
    dollar and a dream

    its all perspective i guess…

  84. sarjo1988 Says:

a bit cliche with a boring beat. Works as an album cut but not a real standout unless your a simp or simpette
    ^
a simp? nah nigga. maybe a little cliche….but how the fuck is it simp to be a young nigga about to be having a baby, but not being sure about bringin into this world, cuz u aint sure if ur mentally or financially ready? and then talkin thru the womans prespective of how she can do it on her own, and how the nigga is all switchin up now, but they used to have convos about how dude didnt wanna grow up to be like his pops n leave n shit liek that

u got it twisted, no shots, but i dont see simp there, i see a real picture, and hear conviction….beat did its job, nothing crazy, we can agree on that, i think it fit the mood perfect tho for wut he was tryin to portray

  85. DJ Chase Says:

I’ve never knowingly listened to Danny Brown.

Someone throw some of his better songs my way so I can hear something

  86. whywonttheseniggasSTFU Says:

yeah sideline story is probably the dopest record on the album…

  87. Jackson7 Says:

Jersey… i dont think anybody hates Cole or thinks he’s wack, or wont give him a chance, or none of that mean etherous stuff…. not at all…

its pretty unanimous that he seems like a good kid, and has good bars and works hard and all that…its just that his music doesnt touch the soul MUSICALLY, like other artists’ joints do…

  88. sarjo1988 Says:

j cole. danny brown, wiz and currensey all have different lanes. i wouldnt compare these artists with eachother

  89. sarjo1988 Says:

u can only compare wiz and spitta in that convo

  90. Hoskins Says:

Sarjo you just defined simp thoughts

It could be a drake song

  91. Jackson7 Says:

    JCole >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wiz & Currensy

  92. Danny Ocean Says:

cOLD and Jackson7 hit the nail right on the head, no homo

Cole lacks that edge, conviction, and presence that appeals to OG listeners…shit is for college kids.

he got that Victor Ortiz on 24/7 swag…too nice, too much of a conscience…easy listening rap.

  93. sarjo1988 Says:

the soul MUSICALLY, like other artists’ joints do…
    ^
i guess it truely is perspective, to each his own, and daps

but kid has been the only one to touch the soul(II) musically in most recent new artists for me

  94. whywonttheseniggasSTFU Says:

    easy listening rap.

    ^
accurate… lol.. thats a cool lane though if you reclining in front of a fire place in matching sweaters and drinking hot chocolate on a wintery evening – right beezy?

  95. cOLD Says:

I analyzed his life and see that he was so set up
Live by the trigger, ’cause no father figure
Means you don’t got a nigga comin’ ’round to guide a nigga
All you got is mama bringin’ home these ridah niggas
Blowin’ reefers, all the teachers do is ride a nigga

    ^ he caught that

  96. sarjo1988 Says:

Sarjo you just defined simp thoughts

It could be a drake song
    ^
i think my deffinition of simp, my own definition, might be a different outlook than urs

to me a simp nigga is one who pretty much be pussy whipped, do anything for the pussy type nigga….so i could be wrong since i never looked up the proper defffinition of simp…but that song wasnt simp to me and my definition

  97. Jackson7 Says:

when danny brown be rhyming bout crack and about being broke and in jail… i believe that nigga… i see that nigga.. he not lying… you can hear that nigga’s pain and conviction through his missing teeth…

    niggas feel that shit…

  98. Danny Ocean Says:

like Ortiz, J. Cole is that kid everybody is rooting for. mild mannered, relatable

but he ain’t stacking up to them cocky sons of bitches like Mayweather when it’s time to go toe to toe

    ^^

I’m not “crazy” about him,but I like the fact that he spits what he knows, not no fake it til you make it shit like officer Rick and that overrated recycled shit he peddles and niggas eat it up…plus his production is pretty good.

Solid artist, very authentic, like they used to be in the 90’s…
