Though he remained mum on which collaborators would appear on his upcoming LP Life is Good, Nas did reveal that he’s recorded with Salaam Remi, Jay Electronica and AZ, and hopes to duet with Scarface. “There’s a certain sound in hip-hop that I love so some of the album may give you a Nineties feel,” he said.

Hell nah. There was zero quality control during No Limit’s heyday. They had way too many subpar artists and crammed as much subpar music on an album as possible.

DipSet had the core members and started a following without releasing an album every week.

Plus, DipSet rappers could actually rap.

This Truthserum guy is just some new guy trying to ether Jihad. Lol at Jihad being the only commenter to get people to come out of lurking to say how they really feel about dude.

  22. Bricktop Says:

    @Amp:
i was speaking more on their respective business models, and the influence that No Limit had on Dipset’s. the actual music couldn’t have sounded more different. as far as Dipset’s quality control goes….well that ended as soon as the Heatmakerz left the building.

but you have to think, Tru started out as the original three. Dipset started out as Cam, Jim and Juelz (and yeah, i know Zeke was around but he wasn’t a rapper). the Dips handled the mixtape scene damn near identically to how P and them handled the commercial market – down to every Diplomats Mixtape jacket displaying about five dozen past, present and future “releases” <–remember how No Limit did this all the time.

  23. Rajon Trondo Says:

FBM is not any of these new masks.

No matter the mask, hoots always types the same.

A lot of these cats are emulating his style, but its not fbm behind the mask.

dude was trying to give NY credit for setting some sort of precedent for the N.O. rap scene, when in fact just the opposite is true.

that’s why i say dude is pretty funny – in a NY sort of way.

and by that i mean “Truth”Serum is the type of guy to get locked up in Maryland, get the living dogshit beat out of him, and sincerely wonder why his NY accent wasn’t enough to prevent said ass whoopin from occurring.

    funny.

Again my nig please STFU, b! Since you the YouTube king, go search out the interview at Hot 97 where Snoop credits KRS-One as being the 1st gangsta rapper to influence him and his early sound

    ^

This nigga said Calvin? Go back FURTHER nigga- Ice T originated that shit Snoop was on, B, and GUESS WHERE HE GOT IT FROM?

“The first record that came out along those lines was Schoolly D’s “P.S.K.” Then the syncopation of that rap was used by me when I made “Six In The Morning”. The vocal delivery was the same: ‘…P.S.K. is makin’ that green’, ‘…six in the morning, police at my door’. When I heard that record I was like “Oh shit!” and call it a bite or what you will but I dug that record. My record didn’t sound like “P.S.K.”, but I liked the way he was flowing with it. “P.S.K.” was talking about Park Side Killers but it was very vague. That was the only difference, when Schoolly did it, it was ‘…one by one, I’m knockin’ em out’. All he did was represent a gang on his record. I took that and wrote a record about guns, beating people down, and all that with “Six In The Morning”.”

Source: Davey D. “Ice T Speaks”. Davey D’s Ultimate Interview Directory. Davey D with eLine Productions. Retrieved 2007-04-02. “Here’s the exact chronological order of what really went down: The first record that came out along those lines was Schooly D’s ‘P.S.K.’ …”

But I’ll let “truth serum” tell it.

Niggas is dumb as fuck- Nigga, NY ain’t EVER been harder than Philly. PSK, RAM, OBH, YTN- we wasn’t name ourselves after clothing lines and cartoon villians nigga. Are niggas REALLY serious? KRS-1 wasn’t posing on the fucking cover of anything UNTIL Schoolly D moved up north and joined the BDP.

SAN DIEGO — Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has to love playing the San Diego Chargers.

Four years after setting the NFL’s single-game rushing record (296 yards) against the Chargers at the Metrodome, Peterson has signed a seven-year, $96 million deal with a guaranteed $32 million on the eve of tomorrow’s season opener at San Diego. He could earn $100 million with further escalators in the deal.

Peterson also gets a $4 million injury guarantee as part of the deal. He gets it only if he’s released for injury reasons.

The contract tops Titans running back Chris Johnson’s four-year, $53.5 million dea. Johnson got a guaranteed $30 million.

Say what you want about owner Zygi Wilf, but the man has agreed to give out $52 million guaranteed to two players (Peterson and linebacker Chad Greenway) this past week.

Said Peterson to his fans via his Twitter account: “Today is an incredible day. Minnesota’s where I want to be and I’m excited to continue playing for you.”
