No, well maybe. I’m mainly dealing with the environment nowadays. I suppose there are jobs out there that would like my skill set. 2 bachs’ and an associate, all totally different shit. Jack of all trades, master of none, I think that’s the part I’m starting to worry about.

Entry level salaries at large firms is $160k + bonus. That’s veep-level pay in finance. OK U RIGHT :)

^only for Ivy leaguers … or if you clerked for a Supreme Court justice.

    ^

Not a huge deal, but you’re wrong.

First, ALL large firms pay $160k + bonus. Whether you went to Albany Law School or Yale Law School, it’s $160k + bonus. These stats are widely published and readily confirmable.

Second, Supreme Court clerks generally get lock-step pay with classmates plus a “Supreme Court” bonus. So a SC clerk will do one year on the federal appeals court, then a year on the SC (nobody goes straight to the SC.) So you start at your firm as a “third year” making “third year” pay (around $200k + bonus). Then they give you a separate SC bonus of around a quarter milly – that’s standard. So SC clerks don’t start out at $160k + bonus…they actually start out at close to half a milly plus bonus, which is why it’s so hard to get a SC clerk job – your life is basically written after that (c) Nas.
