  30. Camelot Says:

Why wasn’t “Primetime” and “The Joy” on the WTT proper?

Why wasn’t Kid Cudi on “No Church In The Wild”

    Why does “Lift Off” exist?

Why is “Who Gon Stop Me” offbeat as fuck?

Why did Jay-Z go full retard on the bottom half of “Murder to Excellence”?

Why is “Made in America” so goddamn buttersoft?

Why are no drums on the verses of “Why I Love You” ?

Why does “Illest Motherfucker Alive” sound like a Graduation scrap?

Why did someone greenlight “H.A.M.” ?

    Why is the sky blue?

    Why is water wet?

  31. Samir Says:

That GB$ writeup was pretty on point (although while 50 released a number of good songs, there were a couple really bad ones too. M-Lito’s version of ‘Ghetto Like a Motherfucker’ is my shit though), and I’ve just adapted to the music overload by ignoring a lot of stuff and accepting that I’m going to miss out on good to great songs.

There’s too many genres and decades of music worth discovering (at this point of my musical preferences) to try and keep up with the popular (or, allegedly popular) hip hop artists. Every now and then I’ll download a project thinking I’ll get to it in the future, but I have to see a lot of hype (from people with not shitty tastes) about the music before that happens.

  32. THe KiD FRanKiE Says:

    Franklin Terrace….

Sounds like a Baltimore hood lol

  51. charles oakley Says:

    TS,

I think that Blu line refers to every person’s ability to dream of goals they wish to attain. The house, the job, the accolades, the respect, etc. But do they possess the fortitude to create a plan/path and stick to it in order reach those achievements. Every man can dream, but not every man is willing to sacrifice.

You gotta walk through hell before you can reach Heaven.

  52. Charles Oakley Says:

Hence the title, below the heavens.

  53. Samir Says:

“Realize there’s a heaven, whether you think it’s inside or in the sky
Reach for it before it’s gone internally,
And you stuck here below the heavens for eternity”

  69. Captain Planet Says:

Pitchfork: 1977 sounds more specific lyrically than your other albums. Do you feel like that’s true?

Terius Nash: Definitely. I think the thing that’s a big hit with everybody is how vulnerable those lyrics are. I just have to be able to take whatever the brunt of the bullshit’s gonna be. In a room of 100 people, 50 are going to hate me. There’s nothing I can do about it. I’m not trying to convince people anymore– if they think I’m the bad guy then I’m just going to be the fucking dope-ass bad guy.

Like, there could be 80 million people that hit the Internet if you do something wrong, saying, “Oh, I can’t believe this happened.” Meanwhile, the same thing is happening to them. That’s how it works. It’s like how the guy who was running around catching pedophiles was then caught cheating on his wife. Where’s the line? Everybody does shit; everybody fails. So stop acting like there’s some person out here that’s like Jesus. If there is, bring him to me, and we shall start to worship him again.
