  1. E aka Mac with the Cheese Says:

(Kanye) West was performing at the Big Chill music festival Saturday night … when he went on one of his signature rants … this time focusing on the hardships of being so painfully misunderstood.

“I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I’m f**king insane … like I’m Hitler.”

He continued, “One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did.”

  2. harlem world Says:

Kanye is a fame addict. He needs to chill and focus on himself, not everyone else. One of the best artists of this generation .(2000 onwards)

I’m sure thats true on a certain level but i will never feel sorry for that nigga. He aint win the lottery and he worked for everything he has but at the sametime this nigga is not a victim of anything but his own mistakes.

    fame has its upsand downs

i mean, im not liek these guys, but i gotta imagine making a decent amount of money, and not being in the limelights, where EVERYONE knows you is pretty ideal.

the Kanye that originally said that is dead. He is now a middle of the road pop drone who won’t make comments that are too outspoken.

Its true, and there is no way for me to know how I would react if i were in their shoes. Thats where self acceptance comes into play tho, if you know your doing the right thing for you and yours then the “haters” will have no effect on you.

its almost a catch 22. These people want fame so bad that they eventually get it and realize that you never stop looking for acceptance.

a lot of people (including Jay) have said fame is the worst drug.

It’s common sense – a lot of people will associate with you because of you money x status – not because you used to hit the arcades together after school. And envious people will always try to bring you down to their level.

They get surrouded by brownnosers, always telling them”you the man…you that dude!”

When it all falls down, they’re nowhere to be seen.

  40. RNC Chairman Michael Steele Says:

There’s only so much you can expect from the production. I mean you can try all sorts of different sounds but it’s pop music, hip hop production, so you WILL be getting the simple hooks, simple melody progressions and whatnot that make rap great.

Where the disappointment really hits is the fact that the songs aren’t amazing in a lyrical sense. You kind of expect a lot with the two together, but this is clearly a situation where the two together are worth less than the sum of their parts.

Again overall decent record, but yeah for what was expected, decent ain’t cutting it.

  41. harlem world Says:

  49. harlem world Says:

After weeks of waiting, The Throne finally dropped their highly anticipated debut last night. So far, reception has been mixed. Later on, producer 9th Wonder, who has worked with Jay-Z, gave his thoughts on the album via his Twitter account. Here’s what he had to say:

Thank you God for giving me the ability to listen to music objectively, despite how big the artist is. Lemme tell yall something, I am not a follower, never will be, if something is dope, cool, if not, then cool, but I don’t follow. #STANDTALL.

I just checked it out.#WTT. WTT as a whole is not for me. I can rock with “New Day” & “The Joy”. I understand expansion/experimentation in music, but its not for me. It has nothing to do with samples vs. keys, cause I ROCKS with The Neptunes, Swizz, etc.

So lets see who’s the first Hip-Hop blog will be the first one to put up my thoughts of the album. So I guess my brother @marcopolo is crazy too? Nah, not at all.

As a musician/beatmaker/active participant in hip-hop, I want to be SCARED when I hear something, like when I heard Aquemini. It has nothing to with the STYLE of rap, subject matter, NOTHING. Its the FEELING for me. U can KILL 50 people in a song as long as it bangs.

I said ” the joint wasn’t for ME”, reading is fundamental. I think I expressed my opinions very eloquently. Different time, different generation. Errybody says IM angry. Who’s more angry, ME or THEM? *Turns on Section 80*.

Here is the funniest thing of the NIGHT…over HALF of these nukkas on here DOWNLOADED it from MEDIAFIRE, lol. Can someone repost my initial comments from last night…*brushes off stones*.

Cool, but out of curiosity why did you not like it?

    Was it the production?

The combination of rock and rap?

Rebirth sounded like a decent rappers take on rock n roll. I doubt Wayne is a rock purist and his relationship with rock is most likely what he hears on the radio. Which is why Rebirth sounds like pop rock. I think if Wayne hunkered down in the studio with a gifted rock band and had a talented producer use the rock band’s material as sample sources, Rebirth would have been an awesome record.
