If you believe that we are on the same page
I’m railing against people who don’t and they are out there and some are respected
Stephen Hawking possibly the greatest mind of our time believes Science does not need God, that everything can be explained through science without a supernatural being to create it
    I think that’s bullshit

    ^^^

We agree in that science isn’t a replacement for religion. However, I agree with Hawking – I don’t see a need for God/gods, religious morals, etc.

  17. Harlem World Says:

African American State Representative Sharon Weston Broome charged that, “Darwin’s ideas on how humans evolved are racist and the key reason for race problems [and] provide the main rationale for racism.” As Broome logically concluded, “If evolution has provided the main rationale for racism, and we are teaching our children evolution in schools, then correspondingly we are teaching them racist principles.”

    ————————-

I still don’t think we disagree

I’m not imposing religion on anyone

My point of difference is if you were religious before and decided now you don’t need religion BECAUSE science offers you more

If you just don’t fuck with religion regardless that’s no sweat off my back

    ^^^

I haven’t read about Darwin’s personal views, but I think he married his first cousin or something. He had a son die of hemophilia, I think. And yes, evolution was used as a basis for eugenics.

But his personal views or Nazi views don’t discredit the science, which has been backed up with way more evidence than Darwin ever saw himself. Why couldn’t Darwin’s personal views be a sign of the times? Gandhi’s early writings made racist references to the blacks of South Africa, does that make his writings on non-violence less valuable? MLK didn’t think so.

On Nah Right, it took us a couple days to figure that out.

Fitted Caps, why wear them so close to the eye brows?

^You shouldn’t be wearing them at all if you’re over 20 … unless you’re at a baseball game.

    ^Why?

    ^

At 18 people should be able to realize what should they be wearing depending on the occasion. If you’re wearing hats and t-shirts outside of your house almost everyday that’s you but IMO it looks ridiculous.

Science has changed a lot more than religion in the past 2000 years.

    ^^^

Because *the point* of science is to change over time. Scientific theories are supposed to get more accurate over time. If we think a drug works best and evidence comes out that disproves it, that’s a good thing. As technology gets better and we can do better research, existing theories should be modified and changed. That’s the point.

Religious texts are supposed to be the word/thoughts of that corresponding higher power, right? So if believers choose to not follow certain rules anymore, that’s not good.

Religion aims to stay the same and changes. Science aims to change and changes.

    ————————-

I don’t have to do all that

Someone else determined the parameters of this argument

Stephen Hawking is the Leader of the Movement I’m railing against

Hawking writes, “The question is: is the way the universe began chosen by God for reasons we can’t understand, or was it determined by a law of science? I believe the second.” He adds, “Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing.”

  37. Harlem World Says:

Savages are intermediate states between people and apes: – Darwin

“Darwin spoke of the “gorilla” and the “Negro” [sic] as occupying evolutionary positions between the “Baboon” and the “civilized races of man” (“Caucasian”)”

In short, Darwin and Darwinism is a racist and elitist theory. It promotes the idea that the Negro is unfit for survival (survival of the fittest) because they are savages – as the above quotes show. Darwin is quoted as comparing apes to savage negroes. FOH with that evolution bullshit.

  40. Samir Says:

There’s a lot of stuff I don’t understand about the world. I know the Big Bang Theory explains how matter was created, but what I was taught in school was confusing and I’ve never really researched it to get a better understanding.

So while I can understand how people like to think a God created everything, that doesn’t necessarily follow for me. People have used religion to explain stars, weathers, animals, geography, etc. – now there’s scientific theories for that. I don’t really feel the need to think a higher power did something, just because I don’t understand it. But that’s just me.

I also don’t think religion is needed to tell people how to live good lives. But I can understand why some people like religious rules.
