Video: Murs – Varsity Blues

Produced by Aesop Rock. Murs’ Varsity Blues 2 EP is out now, with production from Terrace Martin, Foundation and more:

Fresh off this year’s edition of his annual Paid Dues festival, Los Angeles rapper Murs presents the six-song Varsity Blues 2 EP, the sequel to 2002’s first installment. Murs (just about) kicks drugs and alcohol, pulls a gun on the ‘other guy’, dedicates one song to a dead love, another to a lost groupie, and ends by breaking clean with maybe his toughest habit, Los Angeles. Varsity Blues 2 is the sound of a young man strangling his weaknesses one by one, only to discover that nobody gets them all. Production by Aesop Rock, Terrace Martin, Issue, Foudnation, Karl Berringer and Droop-E.

Directed by Darryl Richardson.

Iverson is SELFISH, B. Why you think he playing in Turkey right now instead of helping a team win a chip off the bench?

i’ve tried to explain this to die hard Iverson fans but they won’t accept the truth. He had his chance

Discussing the single from The Truth, Buck explained that he may have been involved in some of what would become Roc-A-Fella Records’ trademark sound at the top of the new millennium. “I was under the Roc management before Just [Blaze] and Beanie [Sigel]. It was between The Blueprint and Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter. It was during the time of The Truth and Bleek’s first album, Coming of Age. I remember during Beanie’s first album we cut like 12 records. A couple of them had the same samples that were on The Blueprint. I had the same Tom Brock sample that was used in ‘Girls, Girls, Girls.'”

In America, we have laws. Laws against killing, laws against stealing. And it is just accepted that as a member of American society, you will live by these laws. In West Canaan, Texas, there is another society which has it’s own laws. Football is a way of life.

So you’re saying Lebron has more heart than Iverson? Nah, I’m not buying that one, and almost certain that through your King James blinders you know better than that as well. I know it hurts to admit it, but your boy simply isn’t built like that inside of his chest. No heart. Iverson? Son was defined fearless. Scoring points just to score points and pad your stats is great and all, but. . . . Put it like this, if Lebron had half the heart that Iverson had, then there’s a STRONG possibly that he’d be able to overcome his anti clutchability.
