Isn’t that how ALL rappers have measured their success, tho?

    ^^^

    Nope.

50 was on the radio reading sheets wid everyones sells on em…

Guess the last time he did that tho lol

In hindsight it was very foolish, he put himself in a box. And there isnt room for experimentation or risk in that box. His (album) music suffered cos of this..

“Only rappers selling units Em, Pimp Juice, and Us”

“You sold a Mill you only half of me”

    Come on, fam.

He wasn’t the FIRST, or even the only rapper to talk about sales. Niggas got that wild confused.

Every chick has a sluty past. Even your mother. Somewhere theres some old heads collecting social security, playing backgammon, and reminiscing about the time they ran a train on your grandmother and made her look like a pig on a rotisserie.

I never once said he was.

But he took the shit to another level. Hes the reason fans check 1st week sales. He brought it into the average listeners mind.

I never heard anyone reading out everyones sales on the radio b4 50.

And the fact that those quotes were all in raps, while 50’s were in interviews (or at any given opportunity really), says alot

    I disagree.

I would argue that the two artists I specifically mentioned, as well as the entire Bad Boy/ Def Jam/ Roc-A-Fella group is responsible for that.

Hell, thats when I first paid attention to sales.

Yea, your talking bout a specific stunt, and yea it went to another level, but the bar had already been raised by CamelGOAT and Big and Nas– then leveled by Curtis.

    Thats all I’m saying.
