joell ortiz was definitely the weakest link in slaughterhouse…

i can listen to any of the other 3 as solo artists… especially Royce… but i never once downloaded a Joell Ortiz song… he’s a decent MC, but i cant stand to listen to dude…

^ technically, joell is as good as it gets as a “texted book mc”. Crazy word play, insane flow, strong content. Voice is wack tho. Just saying 125 grams was the first song I heard from joell and I already knew he would do big things. It just wouldve been nice to see his potential realized. An album with production by Dre Premo, shit even a ye beat, wouldve really gave him a stage to stand on.

^^ I KINDA AGREE WITH THAT HOE CYPHER ABOUT ORTIZ, HE DO THINK HE NICER THAN HE IS.CROOKED WILL OUTRAP ANYBODY

I`m offended by the loose talk regarding them. All of them can rhyme.Fuck a song.Fuck a hook. This is the essence of real hip hop.Straight battle bars.Lord Finesse/BIG L were not great song writers, yet they got love for albums full of rappity rap on every track. All that singy songy hook shit is what ruined rap.

the difference between solo Ortiz and SH Ortiz is night and day. this song shows that.

Joell’s solo music is waaaaaay better than with SH. All four of them niggs is just one big punchline when they get together. Royce has developed the corny Wayne punchline steez which is terribly disappointing. Budden’s MoodMuzik 4 material is much much better than this SH shit. Crooked…i could care less.

^ I dig that SICK, but finesse and Big L, made songs b, and if you want to hear rappity rap, theres tons of battles online for that. But songs can display skill and involve substance, leaving an impact, which will make the listener want to listen again and again.

Dope lyrics are dope lyrics today tomorrow and yesterday.I judge emcees solely on the words that come outta their moufs, not song structure. For instance there were many great authors of great books that lacked proper prose/punctuation/structure/etc yet they became best sellers and movie adaptations.Music is ART,since when art became bogged down with rules??That gets in the way of the creative process, but I understand how you feel as the consumer/listener.

Is anyone familiar with a blogging service that only allows new members to join by actual approval of some sort (not specifically moderation)? And gives the blogger the option to make certain blog posts viewable only to certain members?

I have an ingenious idea for a new kind of rap blog that’ll be slightly DEEPER than rap.

I’ve noticed that there are a few intelligent people on here and on other rap blogs. That’s ironic to say the least because most ppl view rap as a musical genre that lacks intelligence, lol. But we ALL know that aint true for all rap enthusiast.

So if anyone’s interested or has any info on the blog requirements I mentioned above then let me know.
