    Wassup man!

I keep meaning to ask if you know why so many rappers record at Tree Sounds?? I been seeing that in the credits of mad rap albums for awhile. It just trips me out cause there’s at least 20 or 30 recording studios here…

People go where they have a chance to meet up with other artists. Most major labels have particular studios they frequent, usually due to being comfortable with the engineer or because they get a deal on the cost (and most times, both).

    Example.

The Young Money camp records at Hot Beats in Midtown, because apparently Brian owns a bunch of the condos in the high rise overlooking GA Tech. Hot Beats is also where CamelGOAT records. That studio, though is >>>>>>>>>>>

Like, seriously, beautiful. Problem is, everybody (aka Local “D-boy turned I ain’t a rapper rapper) knows this as well, so they try to book time hoping to run into YM, or Jeezy, or CamelGOAT, etc.

Tree Sounds gets a lot of people in because its “off the beaten path”– Its in Norcross, so its outside of ATL Metro. They also have some of the best engineers outside of PatchWerk (which is now more of a mixing/mastering studio than a recording studio), and they offer that seclusion you not gonna get from a Studio downtown, or a “craigslist” studio– they can afford to be selective about their clientile.
