The concept of god and religion was created so deep in history.. has anyone taken a second to reflect on what other concepts, from the same era in history, we still believe or give any credibility to? Somehow, we have developed completely new information regarding space, time, geography, mathematics, science in general… yet we still hold on to this age old belief….

  3. Remixznflow Says:

    LOLOL…

    nation reading our discussion…

    funny.

  4. KzA Says:

Why? becuase this is the only belief that has eternal damnation attached to it..

  5. GMLLZ Says:

omehow, we have developed completely new information regarding space, time, geography, mathematics, science in general… yet we still hold on to this age old belief….

    ^^^^^^^^^

Most of the time that ideas are abandoned, its because of contrary evidence.

  6. Detroit P Says:

Science hasnt found a way to replace that age old belief yet…they tryin with evolution..but it needs a creation story

  7. Beezy Says:

For thousands of years, humans worshipped the sun, moon, stars, wind earth animals … mother nature.

Monotheism has only been around for less than 1% of human existence.

hmm.. though, there has been worship for 100% of human existance.. thats interesting on its own

    ^^^^^

First of all…the length of human existence isn’t even factually known.

Underwater structures that exist in the sea (in the sea because 2 mile high glaciers that existed on top of land masses all over the world melted) conflict with any beliefs that humans have existed for only 10,000 years.

    ^True … but very explainable a logical.

Your pre-historic man. You see wind ruffle trees. You have no idea what causes wind.

You create a story to explain it.

Oral traditions carry on, creating the story of a god of wind.

beezy hit the nail on the head (ntpf)

but if negus started worshipping the earth and had a deeper reverance of nature who would get paid?

there’s no money in that type of worship.

^Not 1ith 100% precision, but we can date skeletons found and come up with a rough idea of when human’s first emerged on earth.

  14. kevfrescura de talco Says:

yet we still hold on to this age old belief….

    > is it any coincidence most nahkis hold fast to the golden era of hip hop then?

does that make the culture invalid?

The irony in your explanation is hilarious.

    LOL!

  18. Beezy Says:

Religion was used to explain the inexplicable.

It was then appropriated by the Roman Empire as a method of repression and dominance.

It swept across Europe, and was a spot on humanity for centuries – The Dark Ages.

Corrupt priests and church officials were wealthy … the nobility.

    They repressed the populace.

Until the 17th and 18th century, when the scientific method and advancement in civilization disproved essentially everything religion had to offer.

Not if a significant portion of existence is buried miles below the sea that modern science has yet to really study.

We’ve been to outer space and the moon. We’ve yet to study the depths of the ocean…and that shit’s on earth.

  22. kevfrescura de talco Says:

    LOL!

    > nah for real. theres a reason to hold on to old ideas and trains of thought.

principles have to remain intact for knowledge seekers. otherwise it would be an all YMCMB type of world.

  24. GMLLZ Says:

It’s loose irony but irony nonetheless.

You’re doing the same thing that the prehistoric man did. Creating a reason for something that you really have no factual evidence of.
