ponders why Jay E would bother signing a 360 Deal with Camel when he had a huge buzz completely independent, but chose to ruin it purposefully*

Coles verse is impressive for those people that check for punchlines. I prefer story based rap, and Jay’s verse was so measured, yet poingnant. I mean, you can literally put yourself in that same cab with Jay, riding round NY trying to get SOMEONE at a label to listen to you and take a chance, even though you spitting that black righteousness, knowledge-of-self rap…

I mean, I basically consider Jays verse “grown man’s rap” and Coles “rap for regular niggas”

    But to each their own.

@ jihad, he ripped that freestyle

  9. Jerry Nice Says:

@JiHad- That’s one of my favorite verses of his.

Most underrated Jay Elec verse = a@fatbellybella verse

He said that shits not makin Act II! Thats gotta be one of the illest verses in a while

I said I love you baby, but you ain’t act like it,
Squeeze my feet, kiss my neck, rub my back like it,
And on the phone it’s just you gon hit me back right quick.
First we was straight now it feel like we jack-knifin,
    Kamikaze love, self-destructive patterns,
Mercury and retrograde, four house of Saturn.
    Nothing makes me sadder than,
Hailing cabs and long goin home on a Saturday,
Bumpin’ Donny Hathaway, questioning my choices.
Thinkin ’bout marriage, carriage, and horses,
Man on the hectare, land like a fortress.
    I hope you understand me,
Yo I’m cold like New York,
My heart is warm like Miami,
I’m just trying to build a Kingdom for my people and my Family.

Sometimes I don’t know what to say,
The pain never stops, the cloud never goes away,
    The rain never drops.

    It’s a luxury,
Be grateful that I must to see,
The faith is enough to be,
    Enough to move a mountain,
    My pen is an artery,
    My heart is a fountain.
    I apologize

You did…but I think you can just search @fatbellybella mediafire and it’ll show up..that minimalist beat is cold as well. Jay E is underrated as a producer. Not in the classic sense, but he’s dope in his own right.

  14. Mental Says:

I thought it was a tie between cole and Jay elect to be honest. Jay brought the stream of consciousness and vivid imagery, cole brought the wit and the flow. Perfect balance.

Yo fam, fall back… I just EXPLAINED why I (read: Me, Myself, the person typing this comment) felt like Jay’s verse was better. Fuck a youtube comment. Ain’t nobody hating on Jermaine, I just said Jay’s verse was better to me.

If they could pull off Jay, Camel, Cole, and Kanye over a Just Blaze, one of the leftover Preemo beats, or a Rza beat, I would probably quit rap… Like, I wouldn’t need another song to listen to, EVAR.

I bump that song daily, it’s a shame for someone not to have it.

If we get Jay E on WTT with Preemo, Pete Rock, or Q-tip beat….wooooooooooooo, that shit will be hard body

Kanye & Jay feat. Mos, Rae, Jay E, Cole, and Pusha T – Kill Yourself (Prod. Dj Premier)

I made that up, but you could imagine

  22. Bricktop Says:

Cole would not have gotten overshadowed if HE was the one of tracks with beans and Jay cuz he’s that much doper (than bleek or beans). Yeah BEANS too!

as Mom-mom would say, “he’s just one of God’s special *wink* children. . .”

lol I was just playing around. Didn’t mean to strike a nerve.

Goddamn! Just watched the Jay elect freestyle and i’m blown away. Its scary to think….that verse he spat was average for him!

Please God, let Act II ACTUALLY come out.

  24. tre Says:

I could definitely picture Jay Electronica on The Joy….it’s right up his alley.

Between Jay Elec and Kanye, Hov’s gotta keep stepping his lyrical game up or be left behind.

    J.Cole and J.Elec, 7 minutes, no hook. That’s all I want.
