“He is tryna sell a album”

You kinda answered your own question.

Look at how he was squirming. He could have just said “that’s in the past” or “I don’t want to talk about it” or any number of responses. Instead he let Lauer make him look weak, all because he wants to sell records?

Trust me, people that don’t fuck with Kanye because of what he said in 2005 probably never really fucked with him and haven’t fucked with him since. He ain’t winning them back…

People diss him cuz hes different but the dude is super talented, which is a whole lot more than you can say for nearly every rapper.

    ^^

Based on this comment alone, you have gone beyond being a fan of the artist, to making outlandish claims that denigrate and outright SHIT on over 20 years of music and artists. Basically, you said that Kanye is “realer” than Public Enemy, Rakim, Poor Righteous Teachers, Mos Def, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique and many others who actually spend their careers and their life living the bullshit Kanye spews in random soundbites.

And then you say that its because of his difference or talent that people make these statements– NO! its because Kanye does and says things that make people respond. He called Bush a racist during a national telethon, He ran up on stage drunk and threw Beyonce under the bus fucking with Taylor Swift, he’s the one who complains when he doesn’t win awards… This nigga ain’t no tortured genius… he’s a talented asshole with a platform.

So yea, I called you a stan, but only because your own comments warranted the label… Realist rapper? FOH.

    2. Those rappers will ALWAYS be relevant, and are certainly important to my culture, because they laid the ground work for Kanye to even have the opportunity he has now.

    3. And your equating exposure to “realism”? FOH. Obama called him stupid and Bush called him a racist– those aren’t wins, Fam. MTV “Shutting down their network”? Lordx3 shoulda made da album

  105. Deen Says:

You really don’t think he has any bars? I don’t think it is even disputable that he can rap. After this new LP and all the GOOD Friday tracks he has solidified his spot in my book. Top 5 right now.

    ^^^

He’s improved over time, but there are still too many points where he falls off beat or crams too many words into a bar or says something really corny. He’s got bars, but he has a ton of flaws too. Most crucially, he has the flow of someone that’s trying really hard to rap well.

For the best/elite rappers, flow ought to be effortless.

That said, Kanye is a great artist and a legend.

    agreed

  111. b Says:

good point deen, I hate when people act like ye is the best rapper in the game .

  112. Deen Says:

Put it this way, I’ve never hit rewind on a Kanye verse or bar. But I’ve laughed at many of em.

Kanye probably got better bars than Fif at this point in time. But Fif has his moments too…

Def Ye…. 50 needs to bring some new shit mannnn….

  114. fuck boy music Says:

Kanye West is better than 50 Cent.

50 Cent never was and never will be lyrically.

Honestly I think 50 Cent is one of worst rappers/artists from Queens.

Nore, Prodigy, Havoc, Nas, Cormega, Nature, LL Cool J

are all better rappers lyrically than 50 Cent.

50 Cent is worst rapper to derive from Queens.

  115. TroubleShooter1900 Says:

I don’t wear none of that shit anyhow.

Fun Fact: Ralph Lauren, Isaack Mizrahi, Tommy Hilfiger all have clothes at Target and Wal-Mart with the same quality. The price difference is the fact that the clothing don’t bear their names or symbols. What you are paying for is brand management fees as well as sophisticated marketing cost.

So, fuck them kizzas and their labels. I’d go to Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Zegna, or the thrifty to buy my shit.

I remember when I was in the 6th grade my parents wouldn’t even let me get the edited version of Aquemini because of the cover. The next day I gave my boy 15 bux and his mom copped the love movement for him and aquemini for myself. That was a good day.

  118. Deen Says:

Deen, you don’t listen to Ye’s bars on his albums? Fuck you like rap music for then?

    ^^^

    Are you fucking Mental?

    (See what I did there?)

Just so you know, there was rap long before Mr. West and there’ll be rap long after he disappears. On both sides of that time spectrum, there are a lotta rap niggas that are better than Mr. West.

(Read that in Mr. Anderson’s voice from The Matrix and you’ll get the full impact – none).

Gotta run an errand. I’m out.

    *Daps All, even the KDF*

  119. fuck boy music Says:

If I started a clothing line/brand, I would never let black people wear it. GUESS WHAT? I’m BLACK. LOL

No im not a tom. Hear me out.

Black people destroy BRAND INTEGRITY. Black people bastardize and nigganize clothes brands.

I don’t want Niggers wearing my clothes/fashion like its Rocawear or FUBU.

Go wear your ecko and enyce. Stop ruining RL/Polo for me.

  120. TroubleShooter1900 Says:

U kidding right? From 530 B.C. to 2010 Ye! 50 has never really been a lyrical dude. Occasionally witty but too often, overly simplistic.

It goes without saying though that he was once that dude.

  123. Chris Cash Says:

D_block what was that site you posted a while back that converts video to mp3? or do you have a good Limewire alternative?

  124. fuck boy music Says:

Again, I’m Black. I’m more a of refined [ (c) deen ] negro though. I’m light skinted, I never in my life wore rocawear, enyce, ecko, fubu or nigger brands.

But I would never let niggers wear my clothing brand or fashion line.

No uncle rukus, but niggers ruin name brands. They make it too niggerish.

  125. Jerry Nice Says:

    From 05-10, Kanye West. *fixed*

That year 50 dropped The Massacre, Kanye dropped Late Registration. 50’s reign stopped after BFM. Hasn’t put anything out worth buying since.

What bothers me the most are the occasional corny lines. But that has been almost a calling card of his throughout his career, I just accept that as the price of admission because he does infuse his rhymes with his sense of humor. But his rhymes are almost always interesting and have some form of theme. Even his non sequitur rhymes (So Appalled, Glenwood) have dope lines. Definitely makes good/entertaining songs, despite the sometimes not-great beat/rhymes/flow.

  127. Dewill Says:

50 WAS definitely lyrical at one point… I think he still has it in him too[||]

  128. fuck boy music Says:

I think I’m the only black dude on planet earth…that never wore rocawear, enyce, ecko, fubu, maurice malone, etc.

    Never wore nigger brands.

    I was born with style.

  129. TroubleShooter1900 Says:

Fuck Boy twisted mental actually has a point though, sorry to say. Just from the prospective of me seeing people not paying bills to rock some shit that they will dog out and continue to wear. Destroying the brand image, integrity, and brand lifestyle.

    Live within your means peeps.

Kanye has bars man stop it…he doesn’t have rappity rappin ass bars like dudes from Slaughterhouse, but at the end of the verse you know he got some sort of point across. These rappity rappity rappin ass dudes are played out now, it’s really the same thing over and over just insert a new name, color etc etc etc…I used to the first to dissect any rapper for lyrical content, but now I listen to music more for a message, feeling, emotion, something other than just rapping to rap because to be honest, all that metaphorical shit has become kinda cliche to me.
