    HWorld,

Do you think Kanye had to pay large appearance fees for all of those features on his album or did he get them for cheap seeing as how it’s good publicity for them to be on a Kanye record?

  5. Charles Oakley Says:

It has been said, but great blog.

I’ve been wondering that as well. When you get as big as a guy like Kanye or Em, do people just want to be on the record, or do they still get appearance fees?

If he paid for the features on all of the lights, he is an idiot

^Charles seems to have a larger variety of music. His music seems to cross over from hip hop. I haven’t seen the diversity in D Block’s music yet.

Both lace me with dopeness though.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a noise?

  14. Charles Oakley Says:

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound*?

  15. TroubleShooter1900 Says:

Well, Swizzy prolly asked Alicia to come through, Rihanna probably has to work with him because of contract obligation, Kudi was free most likely, and he prolly slid Fregie some fashion advice or a good plastic surgeon number.

All in all, I think that track was cheap to make.

D Block 4 Life has mayonnaise running thru his veins…

so i think music is his second love….

D Block’s itunes list is about as big and high as his cholesterol

^Yes, because of vibrations. It’s called resonance.

  21. Harlem World Says:

    @ C Oakley

Someone as big as Kanye, I doubt he would have to pay artists for features. Just a fee to get the artist cleared for a single/album. But I cant say for definite because I dont know what he does.

I was speaking about the entire album, not just that song. Ross, Jay, Rae, RZA, Bink!, Nikki. I’m assuming he trades verses/beats for the appearances and spends the budget on clothes and coke.

Pusha did aight on this one as usual

  25. Charles Oakley Says:

Roffle, wasn’t expecting an actual answer. I thought that for their to be “sound” someone/thing would need to be present to interpret the vibration as sound. But I digress, I’m not really ready for this conversation.

Thanks Kanye, but I never upload your album cuts, only bootleg, remix, unreleased tracks. Love the album by the way.

  27. why? Says:

I’m thinking 3 to 5 million was spent on the album and Ye and Def Jam (mostly Ye) are getting probably 15 to 20 million around the 4th quarter of 2011. People keep mentioning how Power, Runaway, and Monster weren’t very successful on the charts but they don’t realize he still has a lot of fans. This album is that good and will do good numbers IMO.

If I find a link to an album cut and c&p it, it’s too pique the interest of commenters/lurkers who may not be familiar with the album or artist. Free promo, I’m not linking entire albums or tracks from Life After Death.

  38. sashaj Says:

kanye’s album is so dope, i find hip hop is at a great place right now, some people might disagree but Cudi’s album was a very strong body of work, Rick Ross and Drake both put out very good albums, Nicki is about to release her debut album which I think lyrically will be great but after hearing the snippets the beats might not be what she needs to take her to that stage of greatness, everyone’s collaborating, Wayne just came home
    I love hip hop
