Cole def ran away with it (tho that seemed to be the plan), but I can’t quite place the others yet. Everybody went in tho.

    ^
Man… If this dude Cole can do his debut with very few features I think the album would be great. Eh I shouldn’t be ranking best to worst and should just enjoy this shit. Big Sean never really raps like this. I blame Cole.

  16. The Shot Clock Says:

why he recycling old cam beats?

  17. hl Says:

I dig Pusha and Kanye’s verse. The rest was meh. Dope ass song though.

    Wow.

    J. Cole > Aubrey

lol at Aubrey not being on a GOOD Friday song yet.

  19. Crackavelli Tha Don Says:

    J. Cole > Big Sean > Kanye > Cyhi > Pusha

On a record where everybody stepped up the fire power, Pusha didnt keep up, kanye’s verse was too short and it was set up for J.Cole to run away with it by giving him the closer and letting him have an extra day to do his verse.

  20. musicman10 Says:

HOly Shitttttttttttttttt.. Cole Went IN… so Did Big sean surprisingly… I think cyhi did the worst and his shit was dope.. DAYUMMMM!

  21. The Shot Clock Says:

    j. cole still average. and gettin angry on a track aint gon change that.

  22. A chick Says:

I hope someone chops this up and put Cole’s verse at the beginning, like they did with Nick’s verse on Monster.

  23. dee Says:

cole heard this beat and just went nuts. god damn this shit was crazy. made me forget kanye and pusha were even on this shit.

  24. fuck boy music Says:

Cyhi da Prince is easily becoming my favorite rapper…dude is nice…

Cyhi da Prince is already better than Pusha T…

he only been out for a year too.

Pusha had the worst verse by far. Cyhi da Prince had the second worst.

I can’t belive Pusha got murdered by Big Sean and J Cole.

  32. Poster Child Says:

Why the fuck do niggas keep mentioning J Cole and Drake ? They got two different lanes…. Lyrically it’s obvious J Cole is better… matter fact…. I’d put J Cole against any MC….. pick one.

Pusha is actin like he just finally made it, dude said Ye is the best rapper alive on Flex’ show…like damn son, u really excited.

Fucking with Pusha is not a smart investment…

Pusha T is basically there just to take a charge…and we know Kanye is a choir boy…never will get caught with guns…and I don’t think Kanye smokes weed…

so Pusha cant be a weed carrier?

Does anyone recall Pusha’s been in the game since 2002?! If he hasn’t yet, he won’t. Look at his track record: Ye/Neptunes co-signs, arguably two hip-hop classic albums, and one classic mixtape under his belt.

Some artists just aren’t meant to “blow” and Pusha’s the valedictorian of that class…not a bad thing, just common knowledge at this point.

According to the Virginia Pilot, Anthony “Tony” Gonzalez, former Clipse manager and club owner has been indicted and charged with being behind a 10-million dollar drug this week by a U.S. District Court. The 34-year-old former club owner is said to have ran his drug ring mostly from his club, Encore Lounge, which was closed earlier this year due to a number of incidents including shootings and drug deals. The indictment against Gonzalez and the others involved states that they “put themselves out as music producers, rappers, entrepreneurs, club owners, clothing designers and other legitimate occupations in order to conceal the true source of their income.

”Through a number of businesses including his former club, a management agency and a trucking company, Gonzalez was able to launder some of the money he received through the sale of drugs. In total, Gonzalez is said to have distributed more than a ton of marijuana and more than 100 pounds of cocaine since beginning his drug operation in 2003. Although based out of Virginia, Gonzalez’s drug operation reached as far as South America.

An unnamed police officer also is listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 60-page indictment. Before being charged Gonzalez bragged about his inability to be caught referring to himself as the “Last Of The Mohicans” in a recorded phone call.Gonzalez was the manager for Hip Hop duo the Clipse up until 2006. The Clipse have yet to comment on the situation and they are currently managed by Steven Victor. Various sources report that as of late Monday night, Gonzalez was still at large.

He dropped them back to back actually. Then he dropped Don’t Look Down. Don’t stop was the weakest link, sure, but it was clear even before Lupe confirmed it that it was an old throwaway track. Take One for the Team, on the other hand, was dope on some gutter shit. And Don’t Look Down was dope on some story shit.

@RNC What would you say makes Cole’s verse dope?
    —————————————–

Out of all of the guys on the songs, his delivery meshed with the beat the best. Granted, the beat pauses before he starts, and stops right when he wants to deliver his best lines at the end and that helps, but the point is he actually delivered. I don’t want to say his bars were exceptionally better than anyone else’s since everyone did well on this, but his lines hit harder for some reason.

I like the guy but he can be boring and I had a feeling Kanye, Pusha, and Cyhi would overshadow him even if his bars were better just because he can sound boring at times. That didn’t happen. In fact, the guy who had dope bars but still sounded boring was probably Pusha.

  275. Charles Oakley Says:

Oak, i see you took offense to gravity’s comment…lol

Nah, I didn’t see it before I posted those. But now that I’ve gone back and read it, yes I do take offense.

    Nas >>>>

  276. RNC Chairman Michael Steele Says:

A lot of times how hard a punchline hits is based on how it’s delivered more than what it actually says. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a rapper who’s lyrics are funny to read, and rappers who have good enough punchlines are a dime a dozen actually. It’s how a guy like Jadakiss can write something great and sound positively boring over the wrong beat.

  277. RNC Chairman Michael Steele Says:

Scratch that…Cam’ron’s verses are actually funny on paper. But that’s it–and he’s not a favourite rapper of mine.

i can’t believe that wale got more marketing dollars than 50. wale’s album only shipped 30k in its initial week. who spends loads of money marketing an album that ships that number of records?
    =========================================
But Wale was everywhere just prior to his album release. And that song with Gaga was being forced onto radio & video outlets.

In comparison, Curtis was kinda quiet.

All his promo came from his mixtapes & low budget videos. What was the first single for BISD?

    I don’t disagree.

MOTM2 is lacking those anthem kinda songs.

Yeah, I’m listening to on youtube(lol) right now and I agree so far. I’m not the biggest Cudi fan but he couldn’t definitely make catchy, anthem songs that could be remix’d in hip hop OR even techno clubs.

So far this is pretty dark. At least he stop moving away from rapping(not his thing imo).

Yeah, Wale was definitely getting a lot of airplay even though most people I knew who heard of him thought he sounded like shit.

And the forced LAdy Gaga collab

^ i don’t know about that, wale made the true point that first week shipping numbers are tied to radio play….the gist was, he lacked a radio hit, so retailers only wanted 30k first week. label can’t push more physical units that retail buyers are interested in copping. i don’t think that gaga song popped anywhere near as big as wale hoped. even in dc, he was getting blocked by the other major urban station b/c he was affiliated with dj alizay, radio politics, you know the drill (which meant he only got half the spins he coulda gotten in his own home city)

  351. spirit equality Says:

wait, was that chillin song one of those songs where people heard it all the time on the radio?

was wale just making up that ‘no radio hit = lower first week order’ thing?

who knows. i don’t work at a major label, i have no idea how any of that works.

it never seemed like chillin was one of those songs that got played to death like OMG or something

  352. AmpGeez a.k.a. Smoke Greene Says:

Just because he didn’t have a radio hit doesn’t mean the label just gave up on pushing Wale.

How many remixes of Pretty Girls were there?

Wale didn’t pop but it wasn’t due to lack of effort on Interscope’s part.

In comparison, 50 got no love for BISD. I thought “Baby By Me” was shitty, but that single got more push then anything else on the album, including “Do You Think About Me”, which I thought had a good video concept & was a more mature look. Plus, considering how public his beef with his baby mom’s was, I thought it woulda got more burn.

Interscope prolly leaked the album a month in advance, just to ensure it didn’t do huge first week numbers.

But it got played enough that people who had no idea who Wale was were becoming annoyed with him.

Yeah, like that really happened. You 50 stans are delusional. BISD flopped because THE FANS were tired of 50’s bullshit, tired of the immature beefs, the redundant rhymes, the lack of hunger in his music after GRODT, the recycled concepts about bitches, money, guns and moving weight.

Interscope wanted him to fail my black ass!
