^I believe he was talking about the corporate side of things.
    ________
Corporate world applies, but he’s including all comodification of culture. Not that I need to explain, but for the purpose of you understanding my question: establishing black culture as purchasable and maintaining a dominant social relationship between blacks and whites. Dude almost has me questioning my love for hip hop.

  7. AlbertFindsdimes Says:

This KeV v. Jerz reminds me of rappers saying they’re the best until enough people believe it and it becomes true.

Albert, If another man’s views have you questioning something love, you really didn’t love it. Hip hop is not a purchasable product for distribution for a buying comsumer. It’s more of a thought process, a way of life so to speak.

You cant buy Hip Hop. You can buy rap though. Hip hop is the umbrella that shit gets sold under. The umbrella never get bought though. Just the contents within it.

  16. kevfrescura de talco Says:

    mostly true.

but if you are young, you are more likely to waiver in your certainty of things due to what people say. You just have to know it doesn’t matter and thus find out if you really love whatever that may be. Like Hip Hop for example.

  22. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

Plus, that guy may say some shit that’ll make you go AHA!!! But it don’t necessarily reign true. Hell, mainstream news got HELLA good answers that we all know are bullshit.

When I see a white girl shaking her ass to Beyonce, I think it’s funny but not degrading (unless she a big ole ugly heffa).

Hip Hop branched out. Some people hate to acknowledge that. It’s like it got a shit load of love children that people don’t wanna claim into the family. The fact is that bloodline is still there though.

  23. AlbertFindsdimes Says:

Word Troubleshooter, thats why I said almost. I can still remember the listening to the intro track to common’s Be at my first job, and singing all the songs on The Drought 3 (yes I’m a Wayne fan) with my friends driving around the beach. The first time I heard NY state of mind…I love hip hop to the core. But the readings for this class always get me caught up ya know
