my depts and my wife debts in

    key word DEBT

college puts most in NEEDLESS debt..

with no guarantees of substantial income..

and there’s no guarantee youll ever pay that off… you just HOPE you can…

just as many have obtained security without that burden…

    college aint for everyone…
    ^^
    stop hating
get a scholarship and apply for hella scholarships/grants
    or
go to a comm college first
    or
    state school.

UF-Gators if your in state I hear, is like nothing for tuition +the fees=less than 4-5k, then just find a place to live.

    work-study, other jobs, etc..

I can see land’s point (n/h) on college.

He is obviously someone who has the motivation to learn and self-study…most people don’t share this characteristic.

Most people are better off in college than not, whether they come out with great jobs or not…they are better off in society.

High School did very little to prepare me for college.

I was better off on my own.

of course white people gonna defend colleges..

cause blacks go to college to become trained to make rich whites even richer…

most of that is still true.

doesnt meant going to college isn’t worth it.

Especialyl siince they have TRAVEL ABROAD programs, so im gonna guess that “life/travel experience” is even better in that situation.

Plus, for many professional certifications, you need that college…

but im a firm, nh, supporter in saying that not everyone needs to go to college to be successful/happy. thats facts.

  21. DC (District of Chase) Says:

The thing about college is, if you know how to work the system, college is a great place to go.

But niggas like me, whose parents didn’t go to college learned the hard way. I first went to NYU, taking out stupid ridiculous loans to cover tution, until the loans couldn’t even cover the costs, then I transfered to St. John’s which was cheaper when I started, but by the end was the same price as NYU. Now I’m stuck with about 90k in loans that I have to repay.

So I taught my younger brother. Go to a small school, St. Francis, get your education without having to take out any loans, graduate near the top of you class, apply for grad school and have schools offer you money to attend their institution so taht when you graduate, you won’t have to pay back shit, all your money is your money

  22. Jersey*made*me Says:

I hear yall bout college…..but when my brother graduated UTA he was at the temp agency right next to me tryna get a job. Whatever tho

LOL,and I hate to LOL but it’s true. Maybe 25% of college grads actually work in the field of their degree. Maybe 25%.

    yeah me too,
except that, college wont leave you as a slave/expendable worker any more than if you didnt go to college. and you assume that the college person here wouldnt have anything to pass on, pretty strong assumption, is that compared tot he one who didnt go to college.

Not looking at the big picture, if you and ur brother were hired and 2 years later you both went for the manager posting, who do you think would get it if your work history was equal

  34. Mr. Iceberg Slim Says:

Lets look at facts, everyone on here that works in corp. america or has a job paying more than 30k. Does your manager have a degree or his manager have a degree. That right there shows you granted you could be making alright money now, but you will be doing that job 4ever for the simple fact you cant even get a INTERVIEW because it requires a degree to even walk thru the door…

  35. DOM IZZO Says:

College is good for networking and building relationships. It also looks good on paper. If you happen to find something you are interested in then so be it. Loans area huge problem, I was fortunate to realize my senior year of HS I could actually get a scholarship hoopin’ and that was my ticket to a free education. I had no desire to fuckin’ play in the NBA. I wanted that degree and be out. But if you know what u wanna do off bat, save your money, invest in what u wanna do and go after it.

Your argument appears to result from some sort of issue with women. You spazzed out more than me

Men and women aren’t perfect but I’ll be damned if a man tells me that my gender is the cause of my imperfection. Fuck all that.

I’m not weak or in possession of short-comings. I’m just not going to let someone come up in here and throw illogical darts at my gender.
