ROTM is easily in the top 10 produced LP’s in the last 10 years and maybe even lower (II).

    ^^
It’s a classic album. Straight up.

^Now that this has come back up, I’ll repeat, which was a better album, ROTM of American Gangsta?

^This is another opinion that has changed on here. Maybe them Jay stans were really going hard for Jay, but from the beginnig, I said I love AG, but it was not fucking with ROTM on no level.

  10. Deen Says:

For a brief period in the mid to late 90s, Prodigy was in the GOAT argument. Nobody did that nihilistic gangsta shit like he did. For a rapper that people tend to ignore these days, so many of his lines have been sampled for hooks it’s not even fair. Quotables forever.

Cudi and Wale want to have a slapfight [ll]? They not cool no more?

  11. JihaD Says:

    @ DC-

Prodigy did. TBH, HNIC1, 2, and ROTM were better than ALL three of the Camel releases that came out during those years, but Camel won via Summer Jam screen. Real rap, P ain’t been the same since… Its like the nigga got so pissed off at those pictures he forgot how to rap… Just be on the record saying the most outlandish shit possible with no semblance of rhyming.

I’ve said this many times on here, could you imagine if Hov would of had the beats that were on ROTM, on AG??? Like, the real 70′s soul sample joints that he should have gotten and chosen???? omg

^ why do you think it is Hov stays away from these kinda beats?

Who were you arguing with??? I am one of the bigger Queens rap stans here, and I kept trying to get people to realize that AG wasn’t a ‘concept” album, it was just a boring album. Sean C and LV should be (and probably were after hearing that Alan The Chemist shit) ashamed for saying they were promoting soul music, then fuck around and let Jermaine Dupri have one of the few actual soul tracks on the cd…

If Kanye won’t give give Wale beats because his music sucks, then how does that explain all those fags on G.O.O.D. music?

LMAO…it was something my pops wanted for his b-day..

    @ Cold

Great question. It could be Alch’s allegiance to P or Diddy played such a major role in AG, that he didn’t feel the need to venture out. Its seldom that Hov has soul sample beats on an LP unless thats the theme, and when it is the theme, or when it was, rather, he had Kanye and Just, rendering Alch obsolete at that point. Still, i maintain that Alch was the man for AG. But Alch 70’s soul sample >>> everyone else

I got the emails, I gotta wait till I get the laptop back to hear the second set of them beats…

As far as Albert goes I mean I don’t remember what ROTM sound like cuz I couldn’t get passed the rapping… With that being said, AG was a fuckin Manifesto on how to become something from nothing… ALL them SV LV beats banged (pray, success, American dreaming, roc boys, American Gamgster) and the shit OVERFLOWED with quotables… I let that tape rock till that tape popped… Or CD scratched for that matter… I will def revisit ROTM to try and see where y’all coming from but right now that’s a stretch
