After the jump, trailer for his The ICU-directed Free Agent documentary, which premiered last week at the NY International Latino Film Festival.

Brooklyn bred MC Joell Ortiz has created a buzz for himself on the radio, the internet and, most importantly, the streets.

Armed with a relentless work ethic and incredible lyrical abilities, Joell rhymed his way through the industry and into the offices of Aftermath Records, where Dr. Dre signed the young Latino rapper and added him to the team.

Due to a lack of support from his label, Ortiz pushed for his release from Aftermath and is now hip-hop’s most valuable Free Agent.

    =================

but how many of those features honestly outshined Ross instead of compliment his bossness

  16. b-ease Says:

If you want to use the amout of guests to discredit Ross individually as a creative force, fair enough. But said guests have nothing to do with how one should judge the actual album as a whole, that’s illogical.

  17. lil mane young Says:

Fat Joe is like a D level rapper..

but his ear for beats is ill.

  18. de la swole Says:

album of the year should be given at the end of the year.

  19. abortatron Says:

yo no shots, but this homeboy sandman is stupid mediocre. i mean, dude can obviously rhyme, but he cant make a song that is worth repeat spins for shit.

  20. AmpGeez a.k.a. Smoke Greene Says:

    no way TD is AOTY.

    Period.

At least not in the same year Big Boi & Drake’s albums are released.

    ^^
    cosign

and SLLF really depends on the listener, it’s big boi so some beats are kinda wild, but i like some of the album, and could live without a few songs. i also gottta give it another listen tho.

trill og, gotta listen to that still

  23. Eastern_Digital aka Nahright's Fantasy Football champ Says:

    smh @ my Mets nh

    It’s not.

  25. Cashmere Cavalli aka Snowbunny Sampson Says:

    AOTY:

    Markberg
    Thank Me Later
    Darkside

  26. Cashmere Cavalli aka Snowbunny Sampson Says:

    Marcberg > Markberg

  27. b-ease Says:

So The Source is giving somebody 5 mics this week. Not that 5 mics matter anymore, but my guess is either Ricky or The Roots.

  28. b-ease Says:

Oh shit, hold on, have they reviewed Thank Me Later yet? If not, that might be the 5 mic-er.

ohh shit Marcberg was this year, yeah that album is illl

    Roots is pretty nasty too.(nh)
DR being what it is should be, but its not straight rap…

ROM-not saying Revolutions Per MInute should be AOTY but it had nice tracks on it too. people hated too fast. but I’m also a Talib fan (nh)

    AND, the one everyone forgets….

    OJ SIMPSON, that’s whats up…

    top tier:
    OJ Simpson
    Marcberg
    DR
    How I Got Over

are all quality to me with
RPM and then prob SFFL and Teflon Don (maybe too much hype…)
