John Legend & The Roots – Our Generation

The latest in Levi’s Pioneer Sessions, which we kicked off with Nas’ cover Slick Rick’s “Hey Young World”. This campaign gets pioneering artists to recreate songs that inspired them, which just so happens to be the overall theme of John Legend & The Roots’ new album Wake Up!, which will also feature this song.

Was Jay threatened by the higher ups prior to telling the judge he wouldn’t be responsible for Beans? You know the ‘nati don’t play fair. Yet, Juelz was at every hearing. I mean, this is the same man who LITERALLY put his life on the line for you, in the booth AND in the streets. I don’t know. Shit just seems… strange.

^you mean the violent dude high on various drugs who dont listen to nobody? why would the judge even ask that? what was the consequences if beans came out and he continued his out control behavior?

they don’t come across as the most educated bunch aside from Free who has found a slight lane and continues to put out decent music consistently

That’s a valid point but it seems there could’ve been another alternative rather than have him go back in. That dude has a lot of power. Not sayin’ that Beans aint a liability, but he has ALWAYS been one. Jay’s random acts of strangeness have been documented since those years forth. I don’t know. Just weird.

lee is gone. i watched him die instantly under fire.we were stopped at a checkpoint and we were set up by afghanistan police. 4 snipers in the mountains fired on our two trucks; i was driving… 4 inches and it could have been me. i put all of his things in the box that they give to the parents of soldiers killed. everyday here is the scariest day of my life. now without my battle buddy… i’ve known that guy over a year, he watched my back… i never imagined he would get killed. i’m 40 days into this deployment. things are much worse than they show you on the news. i am doing this for my daughter, pushing through with no tears and no fear, for our families, for the future. don’t be worried about me, kev just be proud, just open your heart to Our Father(seriously) completely when you pray for me and my peers. i love y’all beyond words and i promise i will come home.

Oschino wants to ride in Meek Mill’s bag.

^Yo, what is UP with that? I’ve noticed that Oschino has been #TeamMeek for a while now.
    ^

I don’t get it either, Billz. One day, I saw him up in Meek’s crib taking shots at Joey Jihad. I guess he’s on Meek because he feels that Mill is his last chance at getting put on, who knows.

It’s a double edge sword for me. Like, it’s dope to see Chris, Free and O — as established Philly artists — to support Meek because he needs it. He can drop Flamers vol. 2350 with DJ Drama all he wants but that don’t mean he’s gonna blow. I think dude’s window is about to close.

On the other hand , I hate it because I think Meek represents everything that is wrong with today’s Philly rap. Dude can’t take his face off of a DVD if he wanted to. Dude can’t stay out of jail if he wanted to. Dude can’t stop taking shots at rappers that don’t mean shit. Dude can’t stay off of WSHH.

  25. Bigspitgame Says:

Oschino is living vicariously through meek… That’s been his young bull since before grand hustle, not to say that it makes it any better… O is way too old for that and based on some of his older tracks he should be teaching them the science of songwriting, and arranging… But it is what it is.. Talent wise Philly rappers>>>>>
